Since its late-year launch, many PlayStation titles have been swiftly enhanced to utilize the PS5 Pro and its advanced technology. This list of enhanced games has expanded significantly throughout 2025, with more to come in the coming months as highly anticipated games like DOOM: The Dark Ages, Death Stranding 2, and Ghost of Yotei are released. Thankfully, gamers eager to make the most of their PS5 Pro today can enjoy an even better experience with one major release from this past month that just got even better.
Presently, Ubisoft has launched a significant update for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows.” This new patch is the biggest one given to the game thus far and can be downloaded not just on PS5, but also on Xbox and PC systems. For players with PS5 Pro in particular, Ubisoft has incorporated some notable additions.
In the latest update for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, PlayStation 5 Pro users can now enjoy the game with Performance-Focused Spatial Resolution (PSSR) technology. For those who may not be familiar, PSSR is a key component of the PS5 Pro that enhances the visual quality of games played on this hardware. Although “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” was already compatible with PS5 Pro when it launched in March, it didn’t previously support PSSR. However, with this update, you can now activate this feature from the settings menu of “AC Shadows”.
Besides enhancing PSSR, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” has also received additional improvements tailored for the PS5 Pro. Ubisoft has optimized the game so that in “Balanced Mode,” the graphics lean more towards the visuals presented in “Quality Mode” instead of “Performance Mode.” Furthermore, a bug that was unique to PS5 Pro users has been resolved with this update and should no longer be an issue.
In the future, we’ll have to wait and see if Ubisoft releases any additional updates for Assassin’s Creed Shadows that enhance the gameplay on PlayStation 5 Pro. Even without further updates, it’s exciting that Ubisoft decided to optimize this game for PS5 Pro, making the console an even more attractive option to buy.
