Back in 2008, I found myself captivated by Deadly 60, a thrilling journey through the unknown with presenter Steve Backshall and his team. This gripping wildlife series takes us to the farthest reaches of our planet in search of the 60 most dangerous creatures Earth has to offer. Now, we’re on season five, and it’s still going strong, airing on CBBC.
Backshall’s rich and vibrant past qualifies him perfectly for Deadly 60. Following his expeditions deep within the Colombian wilderness, he garnered notice from the National Geographic Channel, where he took on presenting roles in shows such as Boot Camp, EarthPulse, The Toughest Race, and Game For It.
2003 marked the time when Backshall joined The Really Wild Show at BBC. Since then, he has hosted Deadly 60, Supergiants, Lost Land Of The Tiger, and made an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. Additionally, he has penned both wildlife and children’s literature books, and received a BAFTA award.
