Shocking Twist in EastEnders

Attention: Today’s EastEnders episode (aired on 9th April 2025) on BBC One and BBC iPlayer may reveal plot twists, so beware if you don’t want to know the outcome!

In EastEnders, Lacey Turner’s character, Stacey Slater, was taken aback by a startling disclosure following the fire at Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) cherished market stall.

Following Martin’s burial, a wave of tension swept through the remaining group as Ruby Allen grappled with the realization that Stacey, not herself, was the one Martin had loved. In an effort to cope, Ruby immersed herself in drinking to ease her grief.

One day, Ruby was observed sipping a drink near the produce stand, and later in the evening, when Stacey finally relaxed at home following a stressful day, she was shocked to discover that Martin’s business and heritage were ablaze.

Lily, Stacey’s daughter (known as Lillia Turner), harbored resentment towards her mother for being absent from Walford. However, Stacey vowed to make amends with her children.

She vowed to track down the individual responsible for setting the fire, yet despite Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) agreeing to investigate the matter further, he advised Stacey to stay clear of it.

Not one to be told what to do, Stacey embarked on a one-woman mission to expose the truth.

At the café, Sophie Khan Levy (Priya Nandra-Hart) disclosed that there was a witness who spotted Ruby igniting a match near the crime site.

In this scenario, Stacey had gathered enough details to confront Ruby, and during an open confrontation, Stacey hurled insults at Ruby until she was slapped.

Zack Hudson (played by James Farrar) persuaded Ruby to step back, aiming to reinstate calmness by helping Stacey understand her innocence regarding the fire. If Stacey accepted blame, she might risk losing her son Roman, as he was fathered by Martin.

Amidst all this, Stacey received a call from Jack, showing her pictures of the charred market stall. He advised her to pause and consider before pointing fingers at Ruby once more.

Looking at the images, Stacey spotted Lily’s water bottle on the ground.

In front of Ruby, Stacey pointed this out to Lily, asking her outright if she had lit the fire.

Will Lily confess, and what will this mean for her future?
