Spike Chunsoft unveiled the first teaser for “No Sleep for Kaname Date – Originating from AI: The Somnium Files,” their upcoming spin-off within the “AI: The Somnium Files” game franchise.

In “No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files”, players assume the character of Kaname Date, the main protagonist, and rejoin forces with the AI-Ball, Aiba, to address a perplexing enigma and save Iris, a virtual idol who’s been coerced into participating in a hazardous escape game. This intriguing title introduces a fresh gameplay aspect called “Escape”. Similar to previous games, players will delve into crime scenes and listen to testimonies during the “Investigation” phase. In the “Somnium” phase, they’ll traverse dreamscapes of suspects and key witnesses. During the novel “Escape” segments, players solve riddles to escape confined spaces. By transitioning between these three phases, players can gather the essential evidence needed to crack the case.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the mastermind behind the game, Kazuya Yamada from Spike Chunsoft, is penning the script for this upcoming adventure. Kotaro Uchikoshi, our previous scenario writer, is stepping up as the series director to ensure consistency and quality. Yusuke Kozaki, a familiar face in character design, is back on board, while Keisuke Ito continues his magical work with the music composition. It’s going to be another fantastic ride!
Story
A single day following the resolution of The New Cyclops Serial Killings, internet sensation Iris Sagan (alias “A-set”) finds herself kidnapped by a UFO, compelled to play a dangerous game titled The Third Eye Game. Simultaneously, in another district of the city, an enigmatic object surfaces – shaped like a coffin and accompanied by a note that reads:
“Psync me.”
With a fragile connection to the vanished Iris as his lifeline, one individual resolves to embark on another pursuit, this time tracking a UFO that defies logic and existence. Accompanied by his artificially intelligent companion, AI-Ball Aiba, he embarks on this journey. That person…is Special Agent Kaname Date.
On July 25, the game titled “No Rest for Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files” will be available for purchase on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam.
