Tom Hiddleston talks about his return in “Avengers: Doomsday” and hints at what’s coming for Loki during an interview with Max Balegde at the Olivier Awards. The actor shared his delight over discussing his role in “Doomsday” and fondly reminisced about his years playing Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though Hiddleston couldn’t reveal many details about how Loki fits into the storyline, he’s excited to reprise the character and further enrich Loki’s established screen presence.
Hiddleston expressed great enthusiasm,” he said. “It’s quite remarkable that I can discuss this topic since I usually can’t reveal anything… It’s been an exceptional part of my journey portraying Loki, and this chapter isn’t closed just yet.
During a Marvel Studios livestream event in late March, it was revealed that Tom Hiddleston would be among 27 actors starring in Avengers: Doomsday. This upcoming film marks Loki’s main screen debut within the Multiverse Saga, although he previously made an unrecognized appearance in a post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Notably, Hiddleston has led two seasons of the television series Loki, which set the stage for Kang the Conqueror’s involvement in the larger storyline before Marvel shifted away from that narrative arc.
Although viewers are aware that Hiddleston will reappear in the movie “Doomsday,” there’s uncertainty about whether “Loki” Season 3 will materialize. The second season concluded with Loki deciding to oversee the diverse timelines across the Multiverse at the End of Time, ensuring the preservation of everyone on each branch. Previously, regarding his potential Marvel future, Hiddleston expressed that the finale of “Loki” Season 2 felt like a “satisfying narrative conclusion.
In numerous aspects, the second season of Loki felt like a fitting farewell for the character. Having traversed through countless adventures, Loki ultimately discovered his “noble objective” and embraced the colossal duty of preserving the Multiverse’s integrity. This poignant conclusion to the character’s journey raises some concerns about bringing Hiddleston back for Doomsday. Nevertheless, his presence in the movie is logical since it brings together characters from different realms to confront Doctor Doom. Given that Loki is a being from the End of Time, it wouldn’t be unanticipated if he had some thoughts about someone causing chaos across the Multiverse.
Absolutely, considering the multiverse concept, t Infinity War, but the variant seen in Loki came about due to the Time Heist in Endgame. No matter how Loki is integrated into the storyline, here’s hoping for a reunion between Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth, as the relationship between Thor and Loki was a key element of the Infinity Saga and it would be exciting to see them together again.
