Summary
- A recent patch for The First Berserker: Khazan resolves memory spike issues causing crashes on PlayStation 5.

The team responsible for developing ‘Khazan’, the first Berserker, has addressed a significant problem in their latest update. This problem was causing crashes and loss of save data for players on PlayStation 5. Although this patch for ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’ includes adjustments that apply to all compatible platforms, PlayStation users were experiencing memory surge issues leading to game boots-off. However, this particular issue affecting PlayStation gamers should be now rectified.
Released on March 27, 2025, “The First Berserker: Khazan”, created by the studio Neople, who are famous for their “Dungeon Fighter Online” series, was a departure from their usual style. This hardcore action RPG was appreciated by both fans and professional critics, receiving generally favorable reviews on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
Despite receiving generally positive reviews, The First Berserker: Khazan has been tainted by numerous annoying glitches, especially on PlayStation 5. A major cause of these game-halting crashes was traced back to a bug that surfaced during inventory screen openings due to memory spikes. However, as of patch 01.004.004, this issue has been successfully addressed and fixed. Players who have encountered this bug or other crashes resulting in lost save data can retrieve it by selecting ‘load and recover’ from the game’s main menu, which will display up to three most recent backup files.
In this updated version of the game for PlayStation 5, not only do we resolve the memory spike issue, but we’ve also squashed several bugs to improve overall performance across all platforms. Some of these fixes pertain specifically to the bosses in The First Berserker: Khazan. For instance, projectile skills launched by Ilyna, Reese, and Trokka will no longer disappear for players. Furthermore, a bug that prevented some players from obtaining the Master of Chaos scroll during the true ending’s final encounter has been eliminated. Lastly, an issue that stopped regular monsters from being correctly catalogued when players failed to meet Daphrona’s Codex requirements on their initial encounter has been rectified as well.
Beyond these modifications, there’s a single bug correction addressing an issue that was unbalancing the game for certain players. This correction disables the farming of Vengeance Points within The First Berserker: Khazan, specifically by continually finishing the side mission named Stormpass’ Phantom of Combat.
