Once again, “Who Do You Think You Are?” returns with a captivating new season, showcasing a diverse group of renowned personalities from the entertainment industry.
On Tuesday, 22nd April at 9pm, you can catch the fresh spring series on BBC One and iPlayer, starring Andrew Garfield, Diane Morgan, Mishal Husain, Ross Kemp, Aisling Bea, Will Young, Fred Sirieix, and Layton Williams.
Over the span of eight episodes, the famous individuals will discover “extraordinary secrets” while exploring their family lineage and ancestry.
Over nearly eight centuries, this renowned series will uncover stories about heartrending romances, dazzling Hollywood narratives, and harrowing accounts of conflicts and slavery. The episodes will transport both celebrities and viewers to various locations, including Jamaica, the United States, and France.
Andrew Garfield undertakes a deeply moving odyssey, traversing the landscape of pre-War Poland, venturing into the Nazi death camp at Treblinka, and eventually arriving in the vibrant, glitzy world of early Hollywood.
While comedian Diane Morgan delves into an intriguing love tale and discovers her forebear’s brave struggle for justice in defending the rights of her out-of-wedlock offspring.
In this revised version, I’ve aimed to maintain the original meaning while making it more accessible and engaging by using simpler language and rephrasing some phrases for clarity.

Ross Kemp journeys to Casablanca to untangle a family enigma, Aisling Bea delves into the formative events in Irish history that influenced her family tree, and Will Young unearths his grandfather’s remarkable tale as a Bomber Command pilot during World War Two.
In other locations, Fred Sirieix delves into his French ancestry and unearths a love story during World War II, while musical theater performer Layton Williams delves into his roots in London and later journeys to Jamaica, revealing some troubling family background there.
Journalist Mishal Husain uncovers a forerunner who served as a personal doctor to a Maharaja, and subsequently journeys to the Eastern seaboard of the United States.
As a film enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement over this year’s outstanding lineup! But what truly captivates me is the rich history unfolding before our eyes. From the unexpected twists in royal lineages to tales of survival that echo through the ages, it’s these stories that keep us hooked. They serve as a reminder of the intriguing micro-histories that shape our very identities.
