We’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of Wednesday Season 2, as production on the second installment of Netflix’s popular Addams Family series has come to an end. Although the release date is still unknown, fans will be delighted to know that Netflix has introduced a new title to help alleviate the wait for more Wednesday.
On a Wednesday morning, April 9th, Netflix made the classic 1991 comedy “The Addams Family” available in their streaming library within the United States. This film was based on the famous TV series and marked the first time these cherished characters appeared on the big screen.
On the big screen, Wednesday marks a fresh take on the beloved The Addams Family, yet it’s the 1991 film that sparked popularity for the characters among a whole new fanbase. Starring Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia as Morticia and Gomez Addams, respectively, this classic film played a crucial role in their enduring appeal.
In the original version, you mentioned that Christina Ricci played Wednesday Addams in “The Addams Family”, a role that significantly boosted her fame during the 90s. For the recent Netflix series, Jenna Ortega took over as Wednesday, but Ricci wasn’t left out; she was given a significant part in the show due to her historical connection with the character. In the first season of “Wednesday”, Ricci was featured in all eight episodes, portraying Marilyn Thornhill.
In the initial statement, it was pointed out that Christina Ricci starred as Wednesday Addams in “The Addams Family”, which contributed significantly to her becoming widely recognized. For the new Netflix series, Jenna Ortega stepped into the role of Wednesday, but Ricci didn’t miss out; she was given an important part in the show because of her connection with Wednesday’s past.
