In the age of gentle parenting, Walton Goggins mastered fatherhood with one conversation.
The actor who plays a role in “The White Lotus” and has a son named Augustus Goggins with his wife Nadia Conners, shared that he took steps to curb his teenage son’s rebellious streak at an early stage and guide him towards the right direction.
On the April 9th episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, Walton shared that it’s been 14 years since he became a parent, and in all those years, he has never once argued with his child.
Yet, he admitted that “for a certain span, he exhibited unbecoming behavior.” During this time, his wife was away on a brief trip, and they had a discussion about the choices he could make in her absence—”the two paths he could take,” as he put it.
In terms of our recent discussion, I was inspired by the Django Unchained actor as he motivated his young 10-year-old son to envision and contemplate the life he aspired for in the future.
He told his son, ‘Imagine your life could take one of these paths. This could be your first significant choice you’ll ever have to make,’ he said, reminding him at 53 years old.”
Or
“At 53, he shared with his son two different scenarios for his future. He emphasized that this decision would likely be the first big one he’d ever face.
Despite the rapid shift towards a serious tone, Walton’s calm demeanor made the heartfelt discussion feel more relaxed and effective for the youngster.
Walton emphasized that he spoke in a composed manner to host Amanda Hirsch, saying, ‘Tonight is undeniably significant for you, it’s a major decision,'”
or
“In a measured and calm tone, Walton assured host Amanda Hirsch, ‘This evening holds great significance for you, it’s a crucial choice,'”
Both sentences convey the original meaning while being easy to read.
He went on to say, “This is the way you’ve been behaving, and you can carry on like this, and this seems to be the path your life will take.” However, he added, “Alternatively, you could rise with gratitude every day and appreciate your life fully, becoming an active part of our family. In that case, your life could look quite different.
Shortly following Walton’s suggestion for his son to ponder significant life choices before deciding, Augustus stirred during the night, eager to express to his father, “I have found the solution.
Upon witnessing Augustus make a choice out of gratitude, Walton couldn’t help but express admiration for his son’s shrewd personality.
He exclaimed, ‘Just as I suspected, you’re quite wise!’ He then extended his hand towards Augustus and said, ‘It’s a pleasure to meet you.’
Indeed, it’s quite captivating to consider the boundless potential that lies ahead for a child as they grow and explore life.
Walton remarked, “There’s something truly remarkable about maturing, you see. It’s because the choices you make will echo and influence the course of your entire future.

What do you think of that transformation? The globally recognized solo artist, often simply referred to as Lisa, transitioned from being a K-pop sensation with Blackpink (consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé) on global stages, to adorning the staff uniform of White Lotus for her first role as Mook.
It seems that Lucius Malfoy, instead of boarding the Hogwarts train, found himself at The White Lotus resort. Indeed, the Harry Potter actor is making a comeback on our screens, portraying Timothy Ratliff, a wealthy businessman spending his vacation with his wife and three kids. Although he appears differently without his signature luscious blond hair, he still embodies another aristocratic character.
Isaac has recently been featured on television shows such as “Robot Chicken,” “The Great,” and “Sex Education” (sharing screen time with his “White Lotus” co-star Aimee Lou Wood.)
Without letting out a shout when you spot it, Posey, the actress who portrays Timothy’s wife Victoria Ratliff, might seem recognizable due to her roles in films like Superman Returns, Blade: Trinity, Scream 3, and Dazed and Confused. As a devoted admirer, I’m equally recognized for portraying Caroline Merteuil in the 2024 reimagining of “Cruel Intentions,” or for my role as Catherine Allday Davis in Ryan Murphy’s cinematic universe, where I delved into the intriguing tale of the Bill Clinton–Monica Lewinsky scandal depicted in “Impeachment: American Crime Story.
Nivola, who is dating Iris Apatow, daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, completes the Ratliff family as the young character Lochlan.
