Kanye West is bringing Taylor Swift back into his narrative.
15 years after infamously interrupting the singer’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, which led to a complex relationship between them since then, the rapper pointed out that incident as one possible reason for not being asked to perform during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
In his now-deleted post on the platform X (previously known as Twitter) on April 7, the rapper expressed that he was never given the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl due to three significant incidents. He mentioned three instances: “George Bush didn’t care about Black people,” referring to a time when former President George W. Bush ignored Hurricane Katrina’s devastating impact on African Americans; the “Taylor Swift moment” likely referencing the incident where Taylor Swift was awarded the Video of the Year award over him, which sparked a controversy and public outcry; and wearing a MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat.
Kanye West, who has children North (11 years old), Saint (9 years old), Chicago (7 years old), and Psalm (5 years old) with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, continued to ponder if his personal beliefs might have influenced his career prospects in various ways.
He said, “What’s it like to be extraordinary yet denied the limelight because I’m too far ahead of my era? (Keep in mind that this was before I became fully associated with Nazism, of course).
TopMob News has reached out to reps for Kanye, Taylor and the NFL for comment.
After the VMAs incident, Kanye, aged 47, and Taylor, aged 35, eventually put their differences aside and frequently showed support for each other at public functions. Nevertheless, their relationship took a turn with the release of his song “Famous” in February 2016, which sparked a public discussion about whether he had informed her about the song’s explicit lyrics beforehand.
Initially, Kanye didn’t seek Taylor’s permission to share his single ‘Famous’, but he reached out to ask her to post it on her Twitter account. However, she refused and warned him about the potential backlash from a song containing such a strong misogynistic tone. Importantly, Taylor was not informed of the actual lyrics, ‘I made that woman famous.’ (TopMob News was told this by Taylor’s representative.)
Several months after their marriage (which lasted from 2014 to 2022), Kim shared excerpts of a discussion regarding the song with Taylor and Kanye. However, Taylor maintained that these leaked conversations did not call into question her version of events.
Taylor mentioned on Instagram that there’s no video of Kanye mentioning he’d call her ‘that bh’ in his song. She stated this because it never transpired. Taylor also expressed a wish to be left out of this storyline, which she has never desired to be involved with since 2009.
Regarding Kanye’s ambitions for the halftime show, he didn’t perform during the 2025 Super Bowl in February, but he did make an appearance by starring in a brief Yeezy commercial that aired then. This ad led viewers to the brand’s website, where at that moment, the only product offered was a white t-shirt with a black swastika design on it.

In March 2024, Tan addressed accusations that he attempted to get Jeremiah Brent as a replacement for Bobby on the show “Queer Eye”.
During the extensive audition process, Netflix and the production companies found the perfect candidate. It wasn’t my friend I suggested for the role, but rather they were chosen because they were the most suitable person for it. I didn’t interfere with the hiring by replacing someone else.” (Instagram post)
On her podcast “Let’s Be Clear” in December 2023, Holly Marie Combs, who previously starred with Shannen on the show “Charmed”, claimed that Alyssa had demanded a choice be made between herself and Shannen to a producer of the show. This alleged ultimatum was said to have led to Shannen leaving the show in 2001.
In February 2024, Alyssa stated on Instagram: “I didn’t possess the authority to terminate anyone’s employment,” and she added that “the passing of time has made any recounting of these events by anyone akin to rewriting history.
The following day, Shannen stated at a panel discussion during MegaCon Orlando, “I’m not witnessing any reinterpretation of the truth as I understand it.
Shannen passed away in July 2024 after a yearslong battle with cancer.
In September 2023, during a game named Stir the Pot on TopMob News, Sharon expressed that her daughter Kelly Osbourne had encountered the rudest celebrity she had ever known. She labeled this individual as a “repeatedly rude boy” and a “wretched little entity.
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
Approximately five years ago, Sharon expressed to Larry King that when Ashton appeared on “The Talk” in 2014, he displayed a certain “tone” or “demeanor” following her mistake in referring to him by name.
She remembered him saying, “‘Who are you? What’s your background in this field?'” She responded, “Listen, don’t push me because I’ll swallow you whole and spit you back out. Let me make it clear, you’re not aware of the caliber of person you’re confronting.
In August of 2022, Cassadee and Brittany, wife of country musician Jason Aldean, exchanged sharp comments following a post by Brittany on Instagram Reels where she demonstrated makeup application on the 23rd of August. Accompanying her video, she wrote, “I’m truly grateful to my parents for not altering my gender during my tomboy phase. I adore this feminine lifestyle.
During a TikTok challenge in 2022, JoJo Siwa referred to Candace Cameron Bure as the “most unfriendly” celebrity. She explained that she felt slighted when Bure declined to take a photo with her on a red carpet. However, shortly after this comment, the actress from Full House apologized: “I hurt your feelings, sweetheart. I didn’t take a picture with you at the event. I feel awful about it, JoJo, I’m truly sorry.
Initially, there was a reconciliation between the two parties. However, several months down the line, Candace was posed a question about whether the Great American Family network, where she holds the position of chief creative officer, would showcase same-sex couples as main characters in holiday films. She responded negatively and explained that the network is expected to maintain traditional marriage as its central theme.
In 2021, JoJo publicly identified as part of the LGBTQ+ community, and they expressed on Instagram that the actress’ remark was both “unpleasant” and “painful” towards an entire group of individuals.
In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed that Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover of her band Hole without giving proper credit. Courtney then offered advice on her favorite florist in Notting Hill, London, inviting Rodrigo to message her for details, and added that she was eager to read Rodrigo’s response with a winking face emoji.
During his guest spot on “Watch What Happens Live”, the actor from “Happy Days” was questioned about his strained relationship with the star of “Forrest Gump” while filming the movie “Turner & Hooch” in 1989.
For 13 days, I was in charge of that movie’s production. Then, I was summoned to Jeff Katzenberg’s office where he told me, “Do you have all your things? Head home.” He spoke these words.
Despite some initial differences, it appeared that Winkler developed a strong bond with Hanks’ canine costar. In his own words, “We got along wonderfully, wonderfully well together. I absolutely adore that dog.
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.
“You know what you did!”
Supporters of the show “The Hills” might recall that well-known phrase, spoken by Lauren during the season three opener. The conflict between Lauren and Heidi can be traced back to when Heidi started dating her current spouse, Spencer Pratt, and reached its zenith when Lauren alleged that Heidi and Spencer had initiated a rumor about her creating a sex tape with Jason Wahler.
After the release date of Fast and Furious 9 was postponed to April 2020, Tyrese criticized Dwayne Johnson on Instagram, triggering a renewal of their long-standing disagreement. On the same day, it was disclosed that a Fast and Furious spinoff featuring Dwayne and Jason Statham would premiere in 2019. The following month, Tyrese hinted at quitting Fast 9 if Dwayne were involved in the film.
Later on, Tyrese spoke candidly about the disagreement during an episode of the podcast “The Red Pill,” saying to Van Lathan, “So far, I haven’t spoken to The Rock personally, but we will discuss things.” He also mentioned that he had a chat with The Rock’s production partner, but not the actor directly.
Tyrese admitted that he was the one who publicly expressed sentiments on behalf of several individuals connected to the franchise, while others remained private. He acknowledged it wasn’t a professional or cool move on his part.
No more bad blood here.
For quite some time, Taylor and Katy were locked in a long-standing dispute, with Taylor’s song “Bad Blood” seemingly stemming from it. The conflict, said to have originated over a backup dancer and conflicting tours, was resolved when Perry extended an olive branch, literally, before Taylor began her Reputation Tour.
Just moments ago, I stepped into my private space, and there, to my utter delight, was a real olive branch! This heartfelt gesture holds such deep significance for me.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”
For many years, it was believed that the costars of “Sex and the City,” Kim and Sarah Jessica Parker, had avoided any rumors of feuds. However, these whispers were rekindled when Kim opted not to come back for a third film and made remarks about her co-star that left people questioning their relationship.
Andy Cohen inquired about Sarah Jessica Parker’s response when Kim Cattrall stated they were only colleagues, not friends, during an episode of Watch What Happens Live that aired in September 2017.
Reflecting on our recent conversation, I can’t help but express my deep sadness. Throughout that entire week, we delved into this topic as I was deeply affected by it, finding it incredibly disheartening because, honestly, that’s not how I remember our shared journey.
She expressed, “It’s unfortunate, but I guess I feel…it’s hard to put into words, but the shared unique experience seems to be the bond between us. Although it was a professional journey, over time it transcended into something deeply personal. So, I’m hoping that this profound connection outweighs any recent discussions.” She went on to say, “Spending so many years engaged in something so meaningful and impactful for others is truly a rare privilege.
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.
The legendary musicians have been engaging in a long-standing disagreement since 2004. During his acceptance speech for the Classic Songwriter Award at the Q Awards that year, Elton John expressed strong feelings towards the audience, stating, “Madonna, being hailed as the best live performer? Nonsense! When did miming become live performance? I apologize, but I firmly believe anyone who lip-syncs on stage in public, especially when fans pay around 75 pounds to see them, should be criticized.
Back in 2008, as an ardent fan and fervently dedicated actress on “Grey’s Anatomy”, I found myself at odds with its creator over a disagreement. You see, I chose not to include my name in Emmy Award considerations because the roles I was offered didn’t seem to merit a nomination in my eyes – they simply weren’t providing me with the material that I believed deserved recognition.
Later on, Shonda discussed Katherine’s choice during an interview with Oprah Winfrey on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ in 2012. She stated, “On one hand it hurt and on the other I wasn’t taken aback. When people reveal their true selves, take them at their word. That phrase has been helpful to me.”
During the New York Fashion Week, a high-profile argument between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party made headlines across the globe. Later on, Cardi revealed what had sparked the disagreement with Nicki in an interview conducted a month after the incident.
For some time, she’s been firing numerous criticisms at me, as Cardi shared in W magazine’s Art Issue. I had spoken with her on two occasions previously, and we reached a mutual agreement. However, she persisted with the criticism.
In the heat of our shared passion, the ember that ignited our dispute was when I noticed what seemed like Nicki giving a thumbs-up and then taking it back on a post questioning my motherhood abilities – an allegation she has since refuted.
Cardi B explained, “I had the opportunity to earn millions from my Bruno Mars tour, but I chose to stay with my daughter instead. ‘I adore my child,’ she added. ‘I’m a fantastic mom, so for those without kids to judge that comment, it’s beyond comprehension. People often say the party wasn’t the right moment or place to discuss this, but I won’t run into another artist at the grocery store or nearby.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: Back in 2009, my journey with Taylor Swift took a turn during the MTV Video Music Awards when our paths crossed unexpectedly amidst her acceptance speech for the “Stronger” award. Over the years, we managed to patch things up and even developed a friendship, but that camaraderie was shattered in 2026 following the release of my song “Famous,” where I paid tribute to Taylor in an unconventional manner, referencing her as part of its lyrics.
On the eve of the Grammy Awards in February 2025, Kanye made a change to his Instagram account by following just Taylor. There was no additional statement from him, and Taylor chose not to address this action in a public manner.
“I don’t know her.”
For well over 15 years now, I, a die-hard fan, have been following this intriguing tussle between the two queens – Mariah and J.Lo. It all ignited when the Christmas sovereign was queried to voice her thoughts on various vocalists during an interview. When inquired about Jennifer, she simply stated, “I’ve never crossed paths with her.
