Hey there fellow gamer! It’s not always easy for me here at Push Square to maintain the facade of unbridled enthusiasm, and I believe in being open and honest with all of you. So, let me be frank: The Outer Worlds left me a bit underwhelmed. To put it plainly, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
The fact that the Obsidian sequel wasn’t immediately impressive doesn’t necessarily mean it will turn out poorly. This 11-minute gameplay demo, released as part of an IGN First exclusive, offers a glimpse into what we might anticipate in the future.
In this video, you’ll find an entire mission set within a place known as the N-Ray Facility. It checks all the necessary boxes: there’s a touch of sneaking around, some intense battles, and plenty of gathering items and exploring. The visual style resembles that of Fallout quite a bit, but it has a brighter, more vivid color scheme.

One point we’d like to emphasize is how astonishing it is that Obsidian Entertainment is launching two games – this one and Avowed – in the same year. Although there are multiple teams working on these projects, it’s a testament to the effectiveness of their management strategy when you consider what they’ve managed to accomplish.
