Dragon Ball Super Artist Reveals Shocking Fact About Current Power Levels

Though Dragon Ball Daima has reached its conclusion, the shonen phenomenon is far from over! Despite the heartbreaking loss of Akira Toriyama, the series’ producers have shared that they aim to carry on the story for many years to come. As for when Dragon Ball Super will resume its manga and whether it’ll make a return to our screens, we’re still waiting for updates. However, the artist behind the sequel has plenty of exciting insights to share! Recently, Toyotaro dished out some intriguing details about the strength hierarchy among the Z-Fighters – and which anime champion might just be the strongest of them all.

In the latest issue of Dragon Ball Super, artist Toyotaro expresses that he feels Ultra Instinct Goku, Ultra Ego Vegeta, Broly, Orange Piccolo, and Gohan Beast are equally powerful opponents. He admits to investing more time into this cover than any other, hinting that such dedication might not be possible again. Interestingly, on the reverse side, there’s a glimpse of Black Frieza whose power level is remarkably higher compared to our heroes.

Z-Fighter Power Levels

In Dragon Ball Super, Toyotaro suggests that characters like Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and Broly are not too far apart in terms of overall power. Although we’ve seen Gohan fight several others in recent manga chapters, a clear winner hasn’t been established. However, based on the events of Super Hero, it seems that Piccolo may be at the lower end of the strength spectrum since he couldn’t defeat Cell Max during their battle, while Gohan Beast was successful against Cell Max’s genetic counterpart.

Akira Toriyama’s narrative initially included assigning numbers to characters’ power levels, which was a common feature in both the Saiyan and Frieza sagas. However, as characters gained abilities that could potentially destroy galaxies with a sneeze, it became less feasible to continue using such numerical measurements. If scouters were still reading power levels at this point, we can speculate that they would likely reach billions, if not trillions, given the immense strength required to rival the gods.

Dragon Ball Super’s Return

Previously this year, Toyotaro contributed to publishing one of Akira Toriyama’s last manga installments, detailing Goten and Trunks’ decision to assume the roles of the new Saiyamen. The return of the manga has sparked intrigue, while shonen enthusiasts ponder about the series’ future direction. Given that Black Frieza currently poses as the major adversary for Universe Seven, it’s safe to guess that he will play a significant role in the upcoming arc of the manga.
