Meet the Most Powerful Marvel Character Coming to the MCU

A significant element in the storyline of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hints at the arrival of a potent Marvel character. Recently, more information has been revealed about the debut of the Fantastic Four within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as their confrontation with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in “Avengers: Doomsday“. The movie will feature a strong lineup that includes Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Thunderbolts, the original X-Men, and indeed, the Fantastic Four. Nevertheless, the strongest character in the Marvel Universe is yet to be unveiled on screen, but “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” has the potential to change that.

Entertainment Weekly recently provided an extensive glimpse into the making of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“. As the discussion revolves around Vanessa Kirby’s character, Sue Storm (also known as Invisible Woman), it’s revealed that Sue will be portraying a pregnant woman in the film. The pregnancy is significant and plays a prominent role within “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“.

Matt Shakman and I recognized that there hasn’t been much representation of a mother with a baby in these typical superhero roles for women. One aspect of Sue’s history that captivated me was when she transforms into Malice, revealing her dark side. I was deeply fascinated by this part of her life. Therefore, I wanted to incorporate elements of Malice into her character, ensuring she wasn’t just the stereotypical sweet and virtuous mother.

Kirby went on to say, “I’ve been deeply fascinated by the complexities of femininity, and the question of how one can embody all its facets. It’s not just about being the strong, invulnerable, powerful woman, but also a mother who experiences the miraculous act of giving birth – an act that can be likened to superhuman feats. I admire these characters because they are portrayed as real people in families with their own squabbles and struggles, trying to navigate their relationships and sometimes making mistakes.

In the comics, although we know Sue Storm is expecting a child, the specific baby isn’t disclosed yet. Sue and Reed Richards have two kids: their eldest son, Franklin Richards, who possesses immense powers capable of creating entire universes, and often referred to as a mutant, though some storylines attempt to change this character development. Given that Franklin is the firstborn, it’s plausible he’s the baby hinted at in the Fantastic Four movie. Regarding Valeria, she boasts an intelligence comparable to her father, Mr. Fantastic. Additionally, she is Doctor Doom’s goddaughter.

Should Franklin Richards make his entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), he instantly becomes a frontrunner in terms of power. Characters like Hulk, Thor, and Captain Marvel possess incredible physical strength, while Scarlet Witch has supernatural abilities. However, what sets Franklin apart is his capacity to manipulate reality itself. This unique trait could potentially catch the attention of powerful entities such as Galactus, a villain from The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Rise of the Silver Surfer. This is the first time we’ll see Shalla-Bal appear on the big screen, as Julia Garner takes to the waves as the female version of the character in her role from Ozark.
