Val Kilmer’s Official Cause of Death: Tragic Details About Top Gun Star’s Final Days Revealed

Val Kilmer’s cause of death has been confirmed.

Tom Cruise, the actor famed for his role in Top Gun, tragically passed away on April 1 at the age of 65. According to documents obtained by TMZ, his cause of death was pneumonia.

In my professional opinion, the factors that contributed to Val’s passing were primarily twofold: acute hypoxemic respiratory failure and chronic respiratory failure. I’ve carefully reviewed the documentation provided, and these conditions were indeed highlighted. Additionally, the document mentioned squamous cell carcinoma, a type of cancer originating at the base of the tongue, as another underlying cause. This information is crucial in understanding Val’s health journey.

Furthermore, the document outlined several critical factors, such as malnutrition and a condition called tracheocutaneous fistula, which is a complication that arose from the actor’s throat cancer therapy and tracheostomy procedure.

After Val’s death on April 7, his ashes were given to his son, Jack Kilmer, aged 29, who was born from Val’s previous marriage to Joanne Whalley.

Val’s daughter, Mercedes Kilmer – a child they shared with an ex-partner – had earlier shared with The New York Times that her father unfortunately passed away due to pneumonia, which she announced on April 1st.

Since the passing of the beloved Batman star, numerous friends and coworkers have paid tribute to him. Among them are Josh Gad, Jennifer Tilly, and Tom Cruise.

At the CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 3, Tom said to the audience, “I’d like to acknowledge a cherished friend of mine, Val Kilmer. I can’t express enough my admiration for his talent, and I feel incredibly fortunate and humbled when he agreed to be part of Top Gun and rejoin us for Top Gun: Maverick.

In a heartfelt gesture, the actor known for “Mission: Impossible” films led the audience in a moment’s quiet reflection, honoring Val’s impressive career spanning several decades.

Tom continued, expressing his idea that it would be special for us to share a moment together, since he was fond of films and had generously contributed to everyone. It seems fitting to recall all the delightful experiences we shared with him.
