According to Nintendo’s announcement, the SEGA Genesis – Nintendo Switch Online application now includes three classic games: ESWAT: City Under Siege, Streets of Rage, and Super Thunder Blade.
Here is an overview of each game, via the back of its box:
ESWAT: City Under Siege
ESWAT is: the toughest fighting force alive! ESWAT means: Enhanced Special Weapons and Tactics!
You’re confronting the menacing Eye of Evil, a ruthless group of terrorists. However, you are the unstoppable law enforcer. Overwhelm their initial forces with your rapid-firing Gatling gun! Scatter their crowds with your rotating flamethrower! Begin as a recruit in ESWAT and use your firepower to rise through the ranks, transforming into an extraordinary supercop—more machine than human!
In a different scenario: Launch an assault on metal entities! Destroy helicopters, machinery, and rogue robots. Experience the intense heat as you crush deranged test subjects. Witness, hear, and smell the imminent threat as sewer sludge transforms into ravenous oozes. Battle mechanical beasts to reach the ultimate confrontation!
Keep a firm hold on your equipment as you embark on eight intense battle missions! With your advanced tech tools and courage, you’ll make it through! The ESWAT team is ready and waiting. Take to the streets!
Streets of Rage
Great two-player action!
As a trio of ex-cops named Axel, Adam, and Blaze, we’ve taken up the mantle to combat the chaos that’s overtaken our city. It’s become a battleground, so we’re hitting the streets in pairs, determined to deliver a firm message to the gangs – they picked the wrong city to wreak havoc in.
In this scenario, we have the pinnacle of urban fighting, where these martial arts masters unleash an arsenal of 40 distinct moves, from jabs to head butts and even overhead kicks. They’re locked in combat with a group of Kung-Fu thugs and axe-wielding villains.
In the streets, they stand as a duo, facing a sea of assailants. Collide with pipe-wielding ruffians and retaliate with their own weapons. Deliver an uppercut or a powerful elbow strike – these thugs just won’t stop advancing.
Super Thunder Blade
Originally called Thunder Blade, the ASH-002 is now operating as Super Thunder Blade (ASH-0918). As members of the Air Force Special Operations Team, you and Super Thunder Blade will command its advanced weaponry to overpower the rogue militia groups aiming for global domination.
Luckily, Super Thunder Blade has the technology, but do you have what it takes?
Equipped with a durable alloy frame for its military upgrades, this machine boasts a top speed of 523 kilometers per hour and can fire an astounding 4,800 rounds per minute. This level of power at one’s fingertips is truly awe-inspiring, but locating and infiltrating the guerilla base remains a daunting task for most.
You’ll face attacks from all directions – land, sea, and air, including Mig fighter jets, nuclear submarines, and commando tanks. To survive, you must become proficient in aerial combat (dogfight) and aim your missiles precisely. The fate of the world rests on your shoulders, so make this helicopter agile and effective.
