This is an exceptional time for fighting game enthusiasts, yet not all releases manage to catch the eye of the major players, such as Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.
We thought it was worth highlighting Pocket Bravery, as it’s currently available for play on both PS5 and PS4 platforms.
It’s quite evident that the design of this game bears a strong resemblance to the Neo Geo Pocket Color, particularly games such as Fatal Fury First Contact, characterized by their robust character sprites and intense background settings.
The game’s title has been thoughtfully created for both beginners and experts, ensuring that everyone can enjoy it, regardless of their gaming expertise. Additionally, it offers a unique, elemental-based special move system that sets this release apart.

This game offers a comprehensive experience with its full-length story campaign, various single-player modes, and rollback netcode. However, we’re not particularly fond of the art style in the cutscenes; it seems slightly incongruous alongside the game’s genuine retro aesthetic.
The title has been released on the PlayStation Store at a price of £15.99 or $19.99, and they’re also planning to make physical copies available for both the PS5 and PS4 systems.
