Spider-Man’s New Ally: The UNEXPECTED Hero Turning into a GREEN GIANT!

In the ongoing saga of “Miles Morales: Spider-Man,” titled “God War,” Miles finds himself caught in a conflict between gods. This war is instigated by Anansi, the spider deity, who has chosen Miles as his representative. Ares, an ancient adversary of Anansi, has resurfaced to continue their feud, placing Spider-Man squarely in the crossfire. While Thor and Hercules have offered assistance, it seems that they might not be enough to tackle this divine battle. With that in mind, a gamma-infused Hulk is being summoned to lend a hand.

Writer Cody Ziglar announced that Miles Morales’ psychiatrist, Dr. Keisha Kwan, will transform into The Hulk in Issue #33 of Miles Morales: Spider-Man. “Meet Dr. Keisha Kwan, aka Powerlift,” Ziglar posted on Bluesky. “Co-created with Federico Vinicinti and beautifully illustrated by Marco Renna! This character is going to cause some trouble. We hope readers enjoy what the team has in store!

In Cody Ziglar’s artwork, Powerlift – the character portrayed by Dr. Keisha Kwan – is displayed in two forms: a reduced power state and a peak power state. The reduced power form depicts her with average-sized muscles, but they expand significantly for her maximum power version. Notably, both forms show her body growing larger, with prominent green veins visible beneath the skin’s surface. Additionally, the cover art of “Miles Morales: Spider-Man” issue #34 presents Dr. Kwan transforming into Powerlift, as she bursts out of her garments in a dramatic display.

In the “God War” storyline, Ares transforms Agent Gao into his new embodiment, War-Cry. Alongside Zip Zephyr, the chief deity of wind, they confront Anansi, Thor, Hercules, and Miles Morales. Comic issue #33 hints at more divine allies joining the fray: Philomelus, a demigod associated with earth, and Pyrrah, a water-dwelling demigoddess.

In the solicitations, it appears as though Powerlift might be at odds with Miles Morales, but a more plausible explanation seems to be that she discovers her patient is in danger, leading her to transform into a Hulk-like figure. The intriguing question then becomes: How did Dr. Kwan acquire her Hulk abilities? As a disciple of Leonard Samson, also known as Sasquatch, who possesses gamma powers, it’s possible that Dr. Kwan received a blood transfusion from him, explaining her transformation.
