Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” won’t include the additional content (DLC) that was previously released for the game.
According to IGN’s findings, the Nintendo eShop listing for the upcoming “Breath of the Wild” edition on Switch doesn’t include the Expansion Pass content that was initially released. This means that new players who purchase the Switch 2 Edition will need to spend an extra $20 to obtain the DLC, which was previously available.
According to Nintendo, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” doesn’t come with the Expansion Pass DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Instead, you can get that additional content by purchasing it separately.
It’s important to mention that unlike the Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree, there won’t be any extra content added for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Instead, the $10 upgrade or $70 full purchase will provide you with just the base game, along with general performance enhancements and access to the new Zelda Notes feature in the Nintendo Switch smartphone app.
Titles such as “Super Mario Party Jamboree” and “Kirby and the Forgotten Land,” on the other hand, are receiving more substantial updates for the Switch 2 Edition. Although they come with a higher price tag, these upgrades will include extra gameplay content, like the new “Jamboree TV” mode in “Super Mario Party Jamboree,” and the “Star-Crossed World” in “Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
In simpler terms, Nintendo has previously stated that for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games, you won’t need to worry about downloading extra content because all the necessary game content is preloaded onto the game card itself. Therefore, you won’t receive any download codes with these games.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to know that the company is giving third-party developers the opportunity to bring their classic games to life on the Switch 2 Edition. The company has hinted that some companies might opt to provide download codes instead of loading everything onto the game card itself. This approach could potentially lead to a wider variety of games and less physical storage space needed, which is always a bonus for gamers like me!
According to Nintendo, the physical editions of Nintendo Switch 2 games will contain both the original Nintendo Switch game and its upgrade pack on a single game card. These are exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and do not require separate download codes. However, some publishers might also offer Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games as download codes within physical packaging, without a game card included.
