4A Games Ukraine, now known as Reburn, is currently developing the game titled “La Quimera“. Project director Oleksandr Kostiuk recently shared additional details about this upcoming sci-fi shooter in an interview with WCCFTech. He discussed the game’s structure relative to “Metro Exodus“, as well as the estimated time it will take players to complete it.
When queried about the focus of “La Quimera”, Kostiuk mentioned that since the team opted to emphasize narrative elements, it’s possible that the game won’t offer a semi-open world like in “Metro Exodus”. Instead, he explained that this was a deliberate choice by the studio, aiming to create storyline sequences that will lead players through the plot.
According to Kostiuk, their primary goal is to offer an engaging, plot-centric adventure where the game’s narrative serves as a compass for the player within the game world. To achieve this, they’ve opted for a more structured design layout for the game locations. However, players can expect to uncover hidden areas and additional areas that don’t impact the main storyline, even with this linear approach.
Apart from discussing other topics, Kostiuk also touched upon the studio’s strategy for expanding the game’s content. Given that this project offers a tighter and more sequential gameplay compared to their past projects, they are brainstorming methods to incorporate additional content while maintaining their emphasis on storytelling.
Kostiuk mentioned that the creation of new material for “La Quimera” is ongoing, and they’re thoughtfully figuring out the ideal approach to enhance the user experience without deviating from the main storyline.
Regarding the timeframe for completing the game “La Quimera“, Kostiuk stated that the studio aims to create a more compact game, providing an intense playing experience. This decision arises from the difficulties and trials experienced by the studio as a result of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Due to the difficulties encountered during the creation of ‘La Quimera’ as a result of the war in Ukraine, we chose to concentrate on a more condensed gaming experience, ensuring that all crucial aspects of the game were still included,” they clarified.
As per Kostiuk’s explanation, it typically takes experienced first-person shooter (FPS) gamers approximately 5 hours to complete the main storyline in La Quimera. However, he emphasizes that there is additional content within the game, such as extra challenges and cooperative multiplayer options, which can significantly increase the total playtime.
According to Kostiuk, it typically takes experienced first-person shooter (FPS) players about 5 hours to finish the main storyline on their own. For those seeking an extra challenge while playing together with friends in co-op mode, he suggests that gameplay could last for several additional hours.
On April 25th, “The Chimera” is scheduled to arrive on PC. Prior to its official launch, players can get a sneak peek this weekend with a 24-hour closed beta test. During this beta, players will find themselves immersed in a crucial mid-game mission. This beta can be played either solo or cooperatively.
