The anime adaptation of One Piece has resumed following a six-month break, and it’s already shaping up to be an intense storyline. The narrative now focuses on Part 2 of the Egghead Incident Arc, where the island is under attack by a hundred Marine ships, with nine Vice Admirals at the helm, led by Admiral Kizaru. From the trailers and sneak peeks we’ve seen so far, Kizaru seems poised to play a significant role in this arc, as hinted at in the latest video from Toei Animation’s YouTube channel. Two years ago, during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, Kizaru demonstrated overwhelming power against the Straw Hat Pirates. But since then, Luffy and his crew have significantly boosted their strength. Consequently, the upcoming confrontation promises to be far more thrilling than their initial encounter.

Kizaru aims to eliminate Vegapunk, a brilliant scientist renowned worldwide. For years, Vegapunk has been a loyal servant of the World Government, but was labeled a traitor due to his investigations into the Void Century. Many of Vegapunk’s inventions are modeled after an era when technology surpassed our current capabilities. Naturally, the Gorosei won’t tolerate anyone getting near the truth. Coincidentally, the Straw Hats are also on the island, making it convenient for Kizaru to tackle two problems at once. Yet, before Kizaru can even approach Vegapunk, he encounters an unexpected adversary.

Episode 1125 of One Piece, entitled “A Collision of Two Men’s Resolve! Kizaru vs Sentomaru,” builds anticipation for the confrontation between two high-ranking Marines. Sentomaru, who was first introduced during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, shares a unique bond with Kizaru that transcends the typical superior-subordinate dynamic. Intriguingly, Sentomaru refers to Kizaru as his uncle, hinting at a deeper connection between them. Previews suggest that both Vegapunk and Kizaru have been acquainted with Sentomaru since his childhood days.

In the wake of the command to carry out Vegapunk’s execution, these two officers find themselves in a difficult predicament, torn between their personal sentiments and professional obligations. It’s evident that they have reached different decisions, leading them into conflict with each other. Although Kizaru is one of the Marine’s elite forces, Sentomaru merely serves as an ordinary officer. Despite the vast chasm separating them, the young marine stands firm in his resolve to stand up against Kizaru, defending what matters most to him. This upcoming confrontation marks the return of action in the anime following a multi-month hiatus, during which One Piece’s anime focused on Garp and Koby’s battle against the Blackbeard Pirates.

With the anime resuming, the storyline primarily revolves around the combat taking place on a futuristic island, where the crew encounters unforeseen obstacles. Meanwhile, turmoil in Egghead escalates with additional Marines joining the fray. CP-0 has intervened, and the Straw Hats persist in protecting Vegapunk and his satellites.
