Companion Gets a Streaming Premiere Date (Way Sooner Than Expected)

2025’s highly-anticipated initial major thriller, “Companion,” penned and directed by Drew Hancock, will be arriving on your screens via streaming next week. The film, which received outstanding reviews upon its late January theater release and a respectable box office run, is now set to make its streaming debut on Max. This means that in less than three months since its initial debut, you can enjoy the gripping AI horror movie from the comfort of your own home!

On Friday, it was revealed that the movie “Companion” will start streaming only on the platform from April 18th. Furthermore, the movie will also appear on HBO, marking its first broadcast on HBO’s premium network on Saturday, April 19th at 8pm Eastern Time.

As I embark on this thrilling journey, I find myself in the company of Sophie Thatcher, Jack Quaid, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend – a lively group of friends who decide to unwind at a secluded mansion for a weekend getaway. Initially, it promises to be a weekend filled with luxury and relaxation. However, as the hours tick by, the tranquility gradually dissipates, giving way to an escalating sense of unease. Soon enough, what was supposed to be a leisurely retreat turns into a battle for survival.
