The climactic part of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is preparing for its cinema debut in September 2025, and Ufotable is actively promoting the movie. The official account for the animated version of “Demon Slayer” on X (previously Twitter) has been gradually unveiling countdown images to build anticipation for the release of the franchise’s final film series, a trilogy that will adapt the entire Infinity Castle arc and conclude the anime adaptation.
In the last two posts on the Demon Slayer account, we see Tanjiro in action, brandishing his famous Nichirin sword. One image is reminiscent of Season 1, Episode 7, where Tanjiro encounters Muzan disguised as an ordinary family man. From the numbering at the bottom of each post, it appears there will be a total of 100 such images released, starting from July in Japan and culminating on September 12th, 2025, when the first film of the upcoming trilogy hits theaters.

Demon Slayer‘s Infinity Castle Film Trilogy Is One Of Ufotable’s Most Ambitious Animated Works Yet
Ufotable, a renowned animation studio, gained significant recognition through their exceptional work on the Fate series and later took up adapting Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer in 2019. This project has undeniably been one of their standout achievements, showcasing beautifully animated action scenes with a rich art style that mirrors the original’s distinctive illustrations exceptionally well. The dedication put into this project has proven fruitful, as Demon Slayer has since become one of the most successful franchises ever, with over 150 million manga copies circulating since the anime debuted. Moreover, the first film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, grossed an impressive $507 million USD worldwide, dethroning Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away as the highest-grossing anime film of all time, having earned $395.8 million USD internationally.
It’s clear that Mugen Train was a remarkable achievement, but judging by the promotional materials for Infinity Castle, it seems Ufotable is determined to raise their production standards even higher to provide a fitting conclusion for Demon Slayer. The Infinity Castle arc of the manga is packed with intense fights against Hashira members and the most lethal Upper Moons, culminating in the epic confrontation between Muzan and Tanjiro. The constantly shifting landscape of the castle itself poses a significant challenge for animators, as demonstrated in the final episode of Demon Slayer‘s fourth season. Given their deep commitment to bringing the story to life over many years, it’s not surprising that the final battle would be one of Ufotable’s most breathtaking works yet.
