Year after year, thousands of games make their debut on Steam, but it’s rare to find a few that unexpectedly surge into mainstream popularity. Games such as R.E.P.O. and Phasmophobia managed to stand out among their genre peers and build a dedicated player base. The same can be said about Schedule I, the drug dealer simulator created by TVGS, which is currently one of Steam’s top-selling games. However, with this newfound popularity comes a wave of imitators seeking to capitalize on these unexpected successes.
It’s no surprise that there are numerous questionable games on the PlayStation Store, which some people might label as low-quality or scams. Often, these games appear on Sony’s digital platform shortly after a game gains unexpected popularity within the gaming community. Unfortunately, _Schedule I_ is one of the latest titles to fall victim to this issue, as some games masquerade as genuine products. Shockingly, some of these deceptive games were even showcased on the Trending page of the PS Store, leading innocent players using PS5 and PS4 systems to believe they are legitimate offers.
It’s not surprising that those who were tricked by these scams shared their anger on different online platforms. Eventually, this issue became quite prevalent, causing the sole developer of Schedule I, Tyler, to speak up about it on social media. In response, they mentioned their intention to create a console version of the popular game.
Tyler mentions that recently, some games on the PlayStation Store have been titled ‘Schedule I’. He just wanted to clarify that these games have no connection or affiliation with him whatsoever.
Tyler mentions, “I’m looking forward to transferring the Schedule I details to the console once the game reaches the appropriate phase. However, I’ll make sure to inform the community of Schedule I ahead of time before this takes place.
Unfortunately, gamers excited to play “Schedule I” on consoles like PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or Nintendo Switch will have to be patient as there are currently no plans for its release. It’s important to note that any versions of the game appearing on these platforms’ digital stores might not be authentic, as they seem to be ports of the popular Steam version. So, console gamers should stay cautious about anything vaguely resembling “Schedule I” until it is officially announced.
At present, “Schedule I” can exclusively be accessed on PC through Steam, and it’s compatible with the Steam Deck. It’s currently in its early access phase and costs $19.99 for purchase. If you’re curious about the buzz, you can try out a free demo available now.
In this game, you’re a novice drug trafficker arriving in a new town with no money, drugs, or contacts. Your goal is to establish a drug empire from scratch in the seedy west-coast city of Hyland Point. As you navigate through increasing police scrutiny and lethal competition from rival cartels, strive to grow your empire and ascend to the pinnacle of the criminal underworld.
TVGS regularly refreshes its Schedule I. At times, these updates merely consist of enhancements and bug corrections. However, other times they introduce entirely fresh content for players, as seen in the latest update. In particular, update 0.3.4 introduces a new pawn shop, boutique store, and enables users to customize their interiors with wall decorations.
