DreamWorks Animation movies tend to do exceptionally well when they’re added to Netflix’s collection. Titles such as How to Train Your Dragon and Shrek, along with those from Illumination like Despicable Me and Sing, regularly appear in Netflix’s Top 10 when they become available. Similarly, animated movies produced by Universal’s different studios are consistently popular on Netflix. One of DreamWorks’ less celebrated films from the past decade is demonstrating its popularity yet again by performing well on the platform.
2013’s release, “The Croods,” tells a story about a Stone Age family venturing out of their cave to explore a perilous world beyond its safety. Recently added to Netflix’s streaming service, this film has provided an entertaining alternative since the departure of the two “How to Train Your Dragon” movies at the beginning of April.
Initially, The Croods didn’t receive much attention following its release on Netflix. However, families with a subscription eventually noticed it, leading to an upward trend in viewership for the animated comedy. In no time, The Croods surpassed all of Netflix’s recent releases and claimed the top spot on their daily charts.
This past Sunday, the Netflix Top 10 Movies chart saw The Croods maintaining its dominant position at the top. Even with newer releases such as Despicable Me 2, The Life List, and One of Them Days vying for attention, none could dethrone the popular family film from its number one spot, which it has held since the beginning of the weekend.
Right now, “The Croods: A New Age,” the 2020 sequel to “The Croods,” isn’t accessible on Netflix. But fear not, fans! Instead, you can dive into four seasons of the spinoff series, “Dawn of the Croods,” which is available on Netflix. There’s lots for movie enthusiasts to enjoy!

On April 1st, Netflix welcomed “The Croods” alongside around twenty other well-known movies. So far, “The Croods,” produced by DreamWorks, has fared best among them, but there are numerous other recent additions that are definitely worth a watch.
