As a gamer, I’ve just had a peek at what Bungie has been cooking up with their latest creation, Marathon. They’ve unveiled the gameplay to us all, giving us a glimpse of the sci-fi extraction shooter and its intriguing mechanics, accompanied by a stylish cinematic short. Reactions have ranged from pure excitement to cautious skepticism, but various media outlets and content creators have been given early access to the alpha version, sharing fresh insights like the initial launch content.
According to recent reports, the game titled Marathon is set to debut with its first season. In an interview, director Joe Ziegler shared insights about designing exciting journeys for players. Interestingly, multiple sources, including GameSpot, have confirmed that it will initially release with three maps. An additional map is expected to follow closely after the launch. At the game’s inception, there will be six characters that can be controlled, four of which have already been unveiled – for further information, click here.
The storyline seems to be “rather abstract and lacks clarity in presentation” right now, and the characters’ development hasn’t “revealed any indications of significant progress or personal growth” as of yet. However, since this is an alpha build, there may be more depth revealed at the launch.
The game titled “Marathon” is set to debut on September 23rd for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers (PC). Previously, a closed alpha trial of the game will commence on April 23rd.
