Aimee Lou Wood was not amused by SNL‘s White Lotus parody.
In the April 12 episode of NBC’s series, there was a political satire piece named “The White POTUS“. This segment showcased cast member Sarah Sherman imitating the role of Chelsea, a character reminiscent of a British actress. She wore what seemed to be a dental prosthetic and an outfit similar to one she wore on HBO Max’s show for this portrayal.
In a simpler and more conversational manner, the sentence could be rephrased as: “The person who previously shared her struggles with being bullied about her teeth wrote on Instagram Stories on April 13, ‘I found the Saturday Night Live skit to be harsh and unfunny. Take care.’
A number of individuals privately messaged her to show their approval. One person put it this way in a message she posted: “I concur — all the other characters in that satire were political figures being ridiculed.” They were suggesting that the character who wasn’t political was Chelsea, and they seemed to be making fun of your physical appearance or accent.
A person hailing from Manchester, England, previously mentioned, “Please make sure to get the accent correct, honestly. I appreciate precision, even if it might seem harsh.
The 31-year-old added, “Indeed, let’s go ahead with it – that’s the essence of our production. However, can we find a more intelligent, subtle, and refined approach instead of something straightforward and inexpensive?
The actress later shared an update, writing, “I’ve had apologies from SNL.”
In the sketch, Sherman was joined by several of his SNL co-stars, including James Austin Johnson, who once again took on the role of President Donald Trump. The episode’s guest host, Jon Hamm, satirized both Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and Walton Goggins’ character from The White Lotus’ most recent third season, Rick.
Hamm’s RFK Jr. character asks Sherman’s, ‘Aren’t you curious about my unconventional suggestions? For instance, what if we removed fluoride entirely from our drinking water?’ To which he responds, ‘But wouldn’t that affect people’s dental health?’
The SNL actress responds, “Fluoride? What’s that?”
Wood had addressed White Lotus viewers’ chatter over her teeth last month.
In a video posted on her Instagram on March 3rd, Aimee expressed that as she was growing up, her mouth stood out to others and was what set her apart.
In retrospect, following the buzz surrounding “Sex Education”, I once more addressed the attention my smile has been receiving. “I find it hard to comprehend the influence my teeth are wielding,” I shared during a chat on The Jonathan Ross Show in March. “The Americans are taken aback, yet they’ve all been incredibly gracious.
She noted that orthodontists have shared videos analyzing her bite.
She clarified, “They examine my teeth to identify any issues, but in the end, they conclude that no changes are necessary. Wow, it’s such a wonderful feeling! After being teased about my teeth all these years, this is like a full circle moment.
Following the laughter from the crowd, she humorously commented, “Now, they’re applauding in the audience because I have these ‘sharp teeth.’

She noted that orthodontists have shared videos analyzing her bite.
She described how they examined her teeth and identified any issues. However, their conclusion was that no changes were needed. That felt amazing to her, especially after years of being teased about her teeth. It was a truly heartwarming experience.
Following the laughter, she jokingly remarked, “Now, it seems the audience is applauding because of my ‘teeth’.

In early January, HBO announced that they had greenlit another season of “The White Lotus,” with Season 4 already in development, even before the third season had even debuted. This decision came after the show’s creator, Mike White, presented concepts for more tales involving wealth, crime, and chaos.
Casey Bloys, HBO’s CEO, stated to reporters in November that if Mike intends to advance and complete the four-season project, he will definitely work on the final, fourth season.
Production on season four will likely kick off in 2026, according to Variety.
The big mystery – the location for season four of the show, which the creators and their team have not disclosed yet, but they’ve been subtly giving us clues along the way.
In an interview with Deadline last February, I, as the Executive Vice President of HBO Programming, Francesca Orsi, shared that within a few weeks, we’ll be embarking on location scouting. This means we’ll have more insights soon about our plans. As for where exactly we might settle, I can’t disclose specifics just yet, but it looks promising that our next stop could be somewhere in Europe.
Chances, she emphasized.
Orsi mentioned, “There are certain nations marked on our map, but as of now, we have no updates until they’ve physically explored those places.”
Orsi noted, “We’ve identified several countries on the map, but so far, nothing substantial to share until they actually visit these locations.
In an interview with HBO, airing post-season three finale on April 6, White expressed his desire to move away from the “constant crashing of waves against rocks” style for the upcoming season.
“But,” he added, “there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”
In addition, during his visit to Sydney for the Vivid Festival in June 2023, White expressed that Australia was one of his ideal travel destinations.
He expressed how exciting it would be, noting that the abundance of skill and undeniable attractiveness make it seem like everything you’d want is right there.
The potential storylines for the series are virtually limitless, except for one involving a corpse in the snow, which might not be an option. Producer David Bernad mentioned to The Guardian in February that Mike is not fond of cold weather.
Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, the Emmy-winning composer responsible for the theme music in “White Lotus”, has announced that he won’t return for season four due to creative differences with the show’s team, which date back to the series’ debut season.
Tapia de Veer explained to the New York Times on April 2 that it feels strange since a few months ago I informed my team that I wouldn’t be returning or staying. I didn’t share this news with Mike immediately for several reasons; I planned to tell him only near the end, as a surprise and for maximum impact. (However, White did learn about it before the season ended, according to his statement.)
Regarding the memorable theme tune he composed for season one (which was also used in season two), Tapia de Veer commented, “It seems successful afterwards, but getting there involves a real fight” since White initially didn’t want the theme.
Instead of being instructed, he chose to revamp the opening sequence for season three on his own, which caused quite a stir among the fans.
Or:
Without anyone suggesting it, he decided to refurbish the opener for season three, which led to an uproar from the fans.
When the new version was released, I started receiving calls from TMZ, as well as individuals from England and France, seeking comments about the topic change. The public’s anger over the theme shift piqued my curiosity, so I reached out to the producer and suggested that we might eventually provide them with a more extended version featuring the “ooh-loo-loo-loos,” as people would be thrilled to discover it was part of the original plan. The producer agreed. However, Mike later removed that section – he wasn’t pleased about it.
The composer remarked, “At that stage, it seemed like we’d fought for the last time, as far as I can tell. He was simply refusing any suggestions then.
On The Howard Stern Show on April 8, White criticized Tapia de Veer’s actions as underhanded or untrustworthy, using the term “underhanded maneuver.
White expressed that they are unsure of the circumstances surrounding the situation, but have since discovered the interviews he’s given as part of a public relations effort regarding his departure from the show. They simply feel that he didn’t value their relationship.
The producer went on, stating that there was never a real fight between them. He claims they had a disagreement, but it was mostly about him providing feedback.
During the initial two seasons, their partnership proved successful according to White, as they exchanged ideas effectively. However, by season three, Tapia de Veer expressed a desire to work independently, choosing not to receive feedback, skipping meetings, and avoiding our joint sessions.
And, White added, “He’s definitely making a big deal out of just a creative difference.”
Delighted was White when Jon Gries, the actor who portrayed Tanya’s enigmatic suitor Greg in season one and her manipulative husband in season two, consented to return for a role as the sinister widower Gary in season three. However, Gries hinted that Gary’s (or Greg’s) story may have reached its end, according to his knowledge.
However, that’s what he thought last time.
He shared with The Hollywood Reporter that he’s unsure about returning, but he isn’t certain either way, following the end of season three when Gary’s secret was kept hidden. His only comment on the matter is that whenever he departs, he assumes it’s the end.
Although the charm of welcoming fresh faces at every resort seems tempting enough to set the place ablaze at the end of each season and rebuild anew, as I’ve come to understand from White’s words to The New Yorker, the show has demonstrated that if one isn’t deceased…
Even though it’s nice to have new guests every time, just like White said to The New Yorker, it seems like burning down and rebuilding the resort at the end of each season is an option. But the show shows us that if you aren’t dead…
Mike White’s actions are unpredictable, as Gries acknowledged to THR. He never assumed he’d be part of season two, let alone season three. Everything about him is full of surprises. If given the chance, I would gladly return, but it’s hard to say if Greg’s story in the book has reached its conclusion. I can’t reveal that information.
In any scenario other than a prequel, a multiverse storyline, or an unusual narrative device such as flashbacks or dream sequences, it seems there’s no opportunity for Jennifer Coolidge’s character Tanya to reappear. However, since her dramatic fall from the yacht in the season two finale, which ultimately unveiled her as the season premiere’s mysterious deceased person and the sole returning character from season one, fans have continued to anticipate her potential comeback.
White acknowledges feeling the absence of Coolidge, yet remains silent on whether he disagrees with the choice to eliminate the naive and overly affluent Tanya, who had good intentions.
In the interview on TopMob News in January 2023 following the season two finale of White Lotus, I expressed that White remained firm with his choices. He’s an extraordinary friend, but from what I gather, he’s made up his mind. It seems he aimed for a grand, dramatic, Italian, almost operatic ending for White Lotus 2 and was willing to sacrifice Tanya.
She unequivocally confirmed that she wouldn’t appear in Thailand for season three, stating to The New Yorker, “I believe Tanya won’t return, so I must accept that fact.
