Paul Whitehouse Joins Harry Potter Cast as Filch!

After several months of anticipation, the principal actors for the forthcoming Harry Potter series have now been definitively announced, complete with some unexpected twists.

Among the characters whose involvement has been anticipated or discussed before – such as John Lithgow playing Albus Dumbledore – there are also two surprises in the cast list.

As an ardent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that renowned actors like Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, and Nick Frost are joining the cast alongside Lithgow in this series. McTeer will portray Minerva McGonagall, Essiedu takes on Severus Snape, while Frost is set to embody Rubeus Hagrid. Can’t wait to see their performances!

Moreover, it’s interesting to note that Luke Thallon will portray Quirinus Quirrell, while Paul Whitehouse is joining as Argus Filch. Both actors are set for guest or recurring roles.

In conjunction with the formal unveiling of the actors, both Francesca Gardiner, the showrunner and executive producer, as well as Mark Mylod, who serves as director for several episodes and is also an executive producer, put out a combined announcement.

It was revealed that John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, Nick Frost, Luke Thallon, and Paul Whitehouse will portray Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Hagrid, Quirrell, and Filch in the upcoming project. We’re thrilled to have these exceptional actors joining us, as we eagerly anticipate watching them breathe new life into these cherished characters.

Though Whitehouse has made a name for himself in comedy through shows like The Fast Show and Harry & Paul, as well as movies like The Death of Stalin and others, Thallon, on the other hand, is primarily a stage actor. His only screen credit so far is an unnamed role in the film The Favourite.

For the initial series of the show, they plan to bring JK Rowling’s “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” to life on screen. However, there are yet a few significant adult roles that need to be filled, such as the characters from the Dursley family.

In the meantime, it remains crucial to find out who the talented newcomers will portray in the legendary roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, along with a few of their classmates. The announcement of this exciting cast is expected shortly.
