Chrissy Metz is living the best of both worlds.
Approximately a week and a half after disclosing her move to Nashville, Tennessee, the former star of “This Is Us” shared the reasons behind her decision to divide her time between Los Angeles and the Southern metropolis.
In the unique interview with TopMob News, Chrissy shared that she spends a lot of time there because everything is easily accessible. She mentioned that it’s possible to attend three different events or dine at fantastic restaurants within just one night, and the travel time between locations is minimal – it’s truly wonderful!
And for the Florida native, it’s hard to beat the speed of life farther south.
As someone who’s deeply connected to the charm of the South, I can tell you that Nashville feels like home for me. The hospitality here is unparalleled, something I’ve grown accustomed to from my upbringing in this region. There are so many wonderful, heartwarming aspects about Nashville that make it truly special. (Don’t miss out on more of my insights tonight, April 14, at 11 p.m., right here on TopMob News.)
There’s also another reason the 44-year-old has opted to spend more time away from Hollywood.
Chrissy clarified that there isn’t any filming going on in Los Angeles. Regrettably, there aren’t many productions here. As I’ve been dedicating myself to music, my family is nearby in Florida. Essentially, I divide my time between the two places.
Beyond sharing my love for music as the “Breakthrough” actress, I’ve recently ventured into another creative realm by penning a heartfelt children’s book titled “When I Talk to God, I Talk About Feelings.” This enchanting story is a reflection of my personal life experiences, and it serves as an extension of who I am and what I value.
Chrissy, author of “When I Talk To God, I Talk About You“, shared that she comes from a large family. As a child, she often felt unnoticed and unheard. She observes the same feelings in young children today, noting that it’s not about toys or playtime; they yearn to be seen and heard. Chrissy believes this emotional need may not always be nurtured or encouraged, so conversations about feelings became important even for adults who might struggle with expressing their emotions themselves.
And becoming an author has been a joyous experience—one she hopes to continue.
She expressed her deep affection for picture books, praising their illustrations. She shared that she had considered studying art and still admires the artistic process. As a result, she hopes for the best.
However, while Chrissy has been engrossed in her books and music, she hasn’t been monitoring the potential development of a “This Is Us” movie. Interestingly, she shared insights on whether the reported spinoff is truly underway.
She replied, “No, I don’t have any information about it yet,” she said playfully regarding movie rumors. “I surely hope I’m part of it! It would be fantastic just so I can stay updated. What are these characters doing? This is all new to me. Maybe we can hint at the possibility instead.
In the meantime, it’s not just Chrissy who is taking a break from the bustling world of Hollywood. Many other celebrities have also chosen to leave Los Angeles behind for a while. To discover who else has departed La La Land, continue reading.

The popular talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres concluded in 2022 following a 19-season stint, which was brought to a halt due to accusations of a harmful workplace atmosphere. This led to an internal probe, dismissals of several high-ranking staff members, and widespread public disapproval.
Ellen DeGeneres, known for voicing Dory in “Finding Nemo,” made a comeback with her last standup comedy special titled “For Your Approval,” which premiered on Netflix in September 2024. Prior to this special’s release, she announced that she would be retiring from Hollywood altogether.
She informed the audience during her “Ellen’s Final Stand…Up” comedy tour, as reported by SFGate, that this would be the last time they see her perform. After her Netflix special is released, she plans to retire from stand-up comedy.
Ellen and her spouse Portia de Rossi are said to have relocated to England following the news of Donald Trump’s potential re-election in 2024, as reported by several media sources.
Following stints in productions like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and the year 2000’s “Bring It On”, Eliza publicly announced in September 2024 that she had obtained certification in psychedelic-assisted therapy and is now pursuing additional education to specialize as a mental health care provider.
She shared with Boston Magazine that she found a way to change her life’s path, focusing on healing herself first in order to help others heal. She feels it would be unfair not to express the incredible transformation, peace, and passion she now experiences. This new journey, without a doubt, is where she truly belongs, fulfilling her true calling and purpose.
The actress who plays a key role in “The Flintstones” shared that she and her 12-year-old son Clay relocated to Ireland in January 2025. She is currently working towards obtaining Irish citizenship, as both of her grandparents are from this European nation. However, the humorist did not completely dismiss the possibility of returning to her homeland at some point in the future. While she cited recent political changes as her motivation for moving, she left open the door for a potential future return.
In a TikTok video, she expressed her longing for her other children, friends, and the aspects of life she left behind at home. She’s currently searching for a new home in this stunning country, but she mentioned that it would take safety and equal rights for all citizens in America before they would think about returning.
As a connoisseur of all things related to the art of storytelling, I find myself sharing some personal news: After two decades of immersing myself within the fascinating world of acting, I’ve decided to step back and take an indefinite break. It’s been an incredible journey that has given me countless memories and experiences I will always cherish.
On Instagram in June 2024, Evangeline shared her feelings: “I’m overflowing with happiness and contentment today, living according to my vision. I’m deeply thankful for all my blessings. Abandoning the typical path (wealth and fame) can sometimes feel daunting, but embracing your life’s purpose replaces those fears with a sense of completion.
However, it’s not a certainty that she’s locking the door forever. She further noted, “There’s a possibility I may return to Hollywood someday, yet, at present, this is where I feel most at home.
Since the Netflix series V-Wars in 2019, an actor from The Vampire Diaries hasn’t taken on a new character. Instead of delving into acting, this father of two (alongside Nikki Reed) has focused his efforts on a personal project – making strides to fight climate change by enhancing the quality of our soil.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I shared with TopMob News in November 2023 that it’s been about four years since I took a break from acting to focus on my family and nurture my entrepreneurial ventures, ultimately bringing the documentaries “Kiss the Ground” (2020) and its sequel “Common Ground” to light. These remarkable films underscore the significance of regenerative farming for our planet’s wellbeing.
Speaking about the future, he expressed his plans, “I see myself as a rancher and creator of enduring brand names, be it my bourbon or health and wellness company. My commitment to regenerative agriculture and soil management for health will remain integral. That path is where my life was heading. So whenever someone asks ‘Why do you take an interest?’ It’s because that’s who I am, that’s the future I envision.
In a 2021 episode of her podcast “Empty Inside”, the former iCarly star revealed to her guest, Anna Faris, that she stepped away from acting a couple of years ago. Now, she’s dedicating her time to ventures in writing, directing, and hosting the podcast as well.
In her memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died, published in 2022, Jennette candidly shared her feelings about her acting career. She admitted to feeling ashamed of the roles she took on earlier in her career, stating that she resents her career path in many ways. She feels deeply unfulfilled by the characters she portrayed and describes them as cheesy and embarrassing. Jennette started her acting career at 13 and was already embarrassed by it all by the time she turned 15. Even her peers at that age didn’t find her work on Nickelodeon shows cool; instead, they found it embarrassing.
She hasn’t definitively ruled out a return to acting, but after writing her book, she believes there might be an opportunity to experiment with acting without the heavy burden she carried for so long. This newfound belief is such that if she writes something tailored to herself, it could potentially open up a chance for her to delve back into acting again. She expressed this during an interview with TopMob News in October 2022.
This seemed almost self-evident. If we had the chance to wed Prince Harry, devote our life to charitable work that resonates deeply with us, and access the Queen’s magnificent collection of tiaras, saying goodbye to Hollywood might not be such a hard decision.
After following in the footsteps of Grace Kelly who transitioned from Hollywood to Monaco’s Palace, Markle departed her residence in Toronto and her notable role on Suits, embarking on a new life within The Firm. However, with Harry stepping down from their senior roles, she is gradually returning to business ventures such as their multi-year deal with Netflix for production.
Since her acting debut in “The Mask” in 1994, she has starred in approximately 40 films. After completing filming for “Annie” in 2014, it was time for a well-deserved break from movie making.
She shared with her friend Gwyneth Paltrow that she had recently made a change in her lifestyle, acknowledging a desire for different experiences from what she previously pursued. After years of intense work, filmmaking, and long hours, she felt drained. Making a movie, she explained, can consume every aspect of your life; it’s like being owned by the production for extended periods with no time left for personal activities.
As a die-hard fan, there’s so much more I yearn to delve into with her, from penning captivating books like her 2013 New York Times best-seller “The Body Book” followed by the insightful “The Longevity Book” in 2016, to building a beautiful family with husband Benji Madden. However, as she shared in InStyle magazine in 2019, “I don’t miss performing. Currently, I’m gazing at the wellness landscape and all it encompasses,” it seems she’s content with this path. Yet, from the glimpse of a hopeful fan, perhaps just one encore might still be on the horizon.
In a conversation with TopMob News, Jamie Foxx expressed his eagerness by saying, “We humbly asked and showed our enthusiasm, something like, ‘Please grant us one more chance,'” as he shared about persuading Diaz to join the cast of the upcoming Netflix film “Back in Action”. He added, “We adore her, we’ve been longing for her participation, and this collaboration is going to be nothing short of extraordinary.
The actor firmly stated that there would be no additional performances following his five-year stint on Empire, as reported by Extra during an interview before the musical drama series concluded its sixth and final season in 2019. When asked about his future plans, this Oscar nominee expressed, “I’ve had enough of acting. I’m finished with pretending.
Despite coming back for a few projects, he declared his intentions to retire from acting during the promotion of his Peacock series, The Best Man: The Final Chapters, in 2022. In an interview with ET, he stated, “I’ve reached a stage where I believe I have given my best as an actor. Now, I’m content observing fresh talent emerge, and I don’t wish to imitate myself anymore.”
Although those remarks were made, it’s worth noting that Howard has come back to feature in several ventures since then. For instance, he appeared in the TV series “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” and the Netflix film “Shirley”. Furthermore, there are numerous projects planned for him in the coming times.
After King Joffrey’s unexpected, purple-hued demise in 2014, the then-21-year-old announced he was stepping away from acting. As he put it to Entertainment Weekly, “I’ve been acting since I was 8 years old. Recently, I haven’t been enjoying it as much as I used to.
Originally, acting was more of a pastime and source of enjoyment for him, shared with friends during leisure time or as a summer activity. However, now that he’s considering it as a career, the charm seems to have faded somewhat. As he explained, “Now I might actually earn my living from this, whereas before it was simply fun and recreation. I still enjoy it, but when you turn something into a job, your perspective shifts. It’s not that I dislike it, it’s just not the path I want to follow.
After a half-decade hiatus, I found myself eagerly stepping back into the limelight in 2020, becoming part of the talented ensemble gracing the screens on BBC’s show “Out of Her Mind.
In September 2020, during Jennifer Aniston’s participation in a virtual table read for “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”, she and her actor husband Kevin Kline, who tied the knot in 1989, devised a strategy to balance their work schedules. They decided to take turns so they would never both be working simultaneously, ensuring they could properly care for their son Owen and daughter Greta (now known as Frankie Cosmos in her singing career).
Nevertheless, he explained that whenever it’s Phoebe’s turn to work, she has opted to stay with the kids instead. Despite making a brief appearance in Jennifer Jason Leigh’s 2001 indie film “The Anniversary Party”, Cates primarily focuses her time on managing her New York City boutique, Blue Tree.
During the peak of his popularity with “Ghostbusters” and the hit series “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids”, the ’80s actor took a break from filmmaking shortly after the loss of his wife to breast cancer in 1991, choosing instead to prioritize raising his children Rachel and Mitchell.
Despite not taking on a live-action role since 1997, and turning down a cameo in Paul Feig’s 2016 Ghostbusters remake, he continues to be a beloved cultural figure, as demonstrated by the uproar over reports of his alleged assault while walking in New York City on October 1st.
It’s great news for fans! He is set to make a grand comeback, joining forces with Josh Gad, in the upcoming Disney remake named “Shrunk”.
After marrying fashion designer Adam Kimmel in 2010, the prominent actress from “Never Been Kissed” seemed to suggest a shift away from her film career. She expressed this sentiment to Vogue, stating that “about ninety percent of acting roles require a lot of intimate scenes with others, and I’m not interested in participating in that.” She further explained, “It’s a peculiar and intense element of the profession, and while our relationship is robust enough to navigate it, if one is going to walk through such fire, there must be something extraordinary on the other side.
Her resolve became firm when her son Martin joined her older daughter Louisanna in 2014. In a 2016 event, she told Us Weekly, “I’ve stepped away from movie work. Now I’m just a mom and an outsider!… I focus on my children, which is why I stopped acting.” She also helps Kimmel with his business ventures and enjoys painting as a hobby in her spare time.
She had watched shows like Ally McBeal, Nip/Tuck, Arrested Development, and Scandal. It occurred to her down under that perhaps it was time for a change.
As I was nearing my 45th birthday, I found myself pondering: is there an adventure or endeavor that I’ve yet to embark on, something truly testing and unique? This thought crossed my mind while gracing the stage of Ellen DeGeneres’ renowned talk show in 2018. With a sense of what my acting career might entail for the next decade or two, I made the bold decision to step away and venture into entrepreneurship instead.
Her consumer-oriented art company, General Public, was still under development, but she only had one remaining artwork to complete.
I reached out to Mitch Hurwitz, the mastermind behind “Arrested Development,” and shared that if a fifth season materializes, I won’t be participating due to my decision to stop acting. He appeared genuinely understanding, and we had an enjoyable chat about it. Later on, he included me in five episodes of the potential new season.
After winning three Academy Awards, one might wonder what significant accomplishments are left for an artist in the acting field. Not long after earning his sixth Oscar nomination for his last movie, “Phantom Thread” (2017), the actor made headlines with a statement from his representatives announcing his retirement from acting. The statement expressed his deep appreciation to all those he worked with and the audiences who supported him over the years. This decision was personal, and both he and his representatives declined to provide further comments on this matter.
However, when he believed he had finally stepped away, his son drew him back into the fold. In October 2024, it was announced by production company Focus Features that the Oscar winner would star in “Anemone,” a film he co-wrote with his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, who will also direct the project.
In 2018, the actress who starred on “Good Luck Charlie” decided to step away from the limelight and instead focused on her academic journey. She earned a master’s degree from MIT and later completed a PhD from the same institution. Currently, she is also working towards a law degree at Harvard Law School.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that Bridgit not only did this, but she also founded her own company, Northwood Space, back in 2023. This venture aims at constructing ground satellite stations for data exchange with space. As of February 2023, Bridgit holds the CEO position for this brand.
