Warning: Major plot revelations from the Emmerdale episode aired on 14th April are disclosed, which can be streamed on ITVX.
This article discusses themes of child sexual abuse that some readers may find upsetting.
There has been yet another dark reveal concerning John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in Emmerdale.
Shortly following ITV’s confirmation that John was indeed a murderer, attention once again turned towards the heinous murder of Antony Fox (played by Nicholas Day). It was John who had disposed of Fox’s remains.
A collection of blossoms were delivered to the Miligans, accompanied by a written note supposedly from Anthony, causing them to question whether he could potentially still be living.
In an attempt to ease her daughter Steph’s concerns and uncover the truth about the flower sender, Anthony’s daughter and abuse victim Ruby (Beth Cordingly), made a promise to delve deep into the mystery.

Ruby then discovered a suspicious Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) was the culprit.
As a movie buff, I couldn’t help but sense an unease within the family dynamic when Ruby shared the devastating revelation about Anthony’s past abuse. Instantly, my instincts kicked in, and I felt it was best to step back and give her space.
In simpler terms, as Joe Tate, the nephew of Caleb Miligan who’s married to Ruby, noticed a strained conversation between them. However, everyone got preoccupied when they stumbled upon Stephanie attempting to unearth Anthony’s corpse in the forest.
It was clear to even Aaron Dingle, John’s fiancee (played by Danny Miller), that no body was hidden at that location, and indeed, John confessed that he had been deceiving everyone – Anthony’s remains were not present.
John suggested it would be wiser not to disclose the actual burial location of Anthony to the group, and Caleb agreed that this could very well be a sensible approach.
Aaron found it frustrating that John was assuming control, yet John managed to placate him by stating that this was the sole secret he held.
If it were indeed true, then it would be worth noting that John shares responsibility for the death of Nate, Aaron’s cousin (Jurell Carter), whose body is submerged in the lake.
Will it be some time before Nate’s former spouse, Tracy (Amy Walsh), finds out that he has passed away and decides to search for him?
Regarding Joe, he began questioning Steph about her latest mistake that didn’t involve him, and Ruby shut him up. (informal)
or
Concerning Joe, he started probing Steph about a recent error unrelated to him, which Ruby put an end to. (more formal)
As Joe pledged to regain the affection of his ex, Dawn (Olivia Bromley), he simultaneously planned to dig up some information on Caleb. However, the question remains: Will Joe expose the enigma surrounding the Miligan family?
And what did John do with Anthony’s body?
