Doctor Who’s New Episode: Shocking Twists and a Surprise Guest Star!

This coming Saturday, the ongoing season of Doctor Who presents a fresh episode titled “Lux.” In this adventure, both the Doctor and Belinda journey to 1952 Miami, not just visiting but stepping onto the big screen as well.

Ahead of the upcoming episode, we now have some fresh images that showcase Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor and Varada Sethu as Belinda, both adorned in vibrant 1950s attire. Additionally, these images offer a glimpse into one of this week’s special guest stars.

In this particular role, we have Linus Roache, an actor known for appearing in shows like Vikings and Homeland in the past.

In casual terms, it seems that Reginald Pye’s character is employed at the cinema, yet he exudes a somewhat unsettling vibe during his interactions with Belinda.

Perhaps he has been swayed somehow by Alan Cumming’s Mr Ring-a-Ding?

Another image sees the Doctor and Belinda having been animated, startled by their new 2-D forms.

Russell T Davies, the showrunner, hinted at the characteristics of Mr Ring-a-Ding for eager fans, expressing his hope that children would find him both enjoyable and a bit frightening.

As a film enthusiast, there’s something slightly unsettling yet exhilarating about the moment when a character on screen catches your gaze, as if they’ve somehow sensed my presence in the audience. It’s a unique and exciting feeling.

Initially, when it was revealed that Alan Cumming would join the show, Davies stated: “Only Alan Cumming can infuse a runaway cartoon with such wit, mischief, peril, and excitement. He makes the Doctor Who universe more wild and insane than ever before, and it’s a tremendous privilege to have him aboard the TARDIS.

Apart from Cumming and Roache, other notable guest stars joining us this season include Rose Ayling-Ellis, Christopher Chung, Rylan Clark, and Graham Norton.

Additionally, stars who have appeared in past seasons are reprising their roles. This includes Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, Jemma Redgrave, Ruth Madeley, and Alexander Devrient.

Doctor Who continues on Saturday 19th April on BBC One and iPlayer.
