Summary
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 had 35 quests cut from the game and 15 percent of Kutná Hora’s map.
- Cut content included a quest where Henry kidnaps Vlad Dracula and a potential karma system.
- Unused content was postponed for possible DLC, improving the game’s release time.
If you’ve experienced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you are aware that the game is rich in content. Two expansive maps, brimming with lively (or less colorful) settings, an abundance of missions, unforgettable characters, and numerous detours to explore.
At the Prague Comic-Con, it was disclosed that although there were many possibilities, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 might have had an even larger scope.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Cut Content Included A Whopping 35 Quests

At a recent gathering in Prague Comic-Con, nestled within the realm where Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set, its executive producer Martin Klíma shared insights into the game’s vastly trimmed content. This edit encompassed 35 missions, one of which featured Henry kidnapping Vlad Dracula, 15% of Kutná Hora’s map, and a morality system (as reported by CzechCrunch).
Klíma stated, “In Sigismund’s entourage, you would abduct either Vlad Dracula or a relative – I’m not certain which one exactly. This family member would encounter Sigismund as the King of Hungary at the time. Your plan was to capture Sigismund and use hostages to extort him, but this scheme would fail due to betrayal from within your ranks. In retaliation, Žižka would take revenge by contaminating a well and attacking a convoy. We’ve omitted most of that; only the ambush part remains.
In contrast to the fearsome blood-drinking Dracula popularized by Bram Stoker, this rendition may not fit that description. Instead, it could be related to Vlad the Impaler, who is often believed to have been the inspiration for the vampire character.
Climate mentioned that numerous quests were delayed because we upgraded them to Downloadable Content (DLC) status within our team. This implies they might be released in an upcoming update, but more often than not, it’s a stage similar to purgatory before being scrapped. However, these changes ultimately advanced the game’s release by six months, making it a process that proved beneficial for players and probably the studio as well.
These cuts “brought the game’s release closer by half a year.”
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, one significant feature that didn’t make the final cut was a morality system, which Klíma described as follows: “Instead of appearing only as time skips in the game, it would have been more engaging if something happened during these periods. Our concept was that there might be a chance for you to dream, and the nature of the dream would depend on your moral alignment. If your actions were morally questionable, such as stealing or murdering, the dream could turn into a terrifying nightmare filled with ghosts and demons – possibly even the spirits of those you had killed.
In simpler terms, it seems that these dreams supposedly played a significant role in Henry’s progression within the game. If he managed to triumph over the spirits, Henry would accumulate experience points; however, if he encountered defeat, it would disrupt his peaceful slumber.
What could have been, hey.
