Rare TARDIS Pics Revealed: Tennant and Davison’s Epic Doctor Who Crossover!

Twenty years ago on this very day, the announcement was made that David Tennant would play the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who. To celebrate this milestone, we’ve unearthed some timeless, previously unseen images from our archives at TopMob.

In 2007, during his second year playing the character, David Tennant’s portrayal of The Doctor crossed paths with one of his former versions, Peter Davison’s Fifth Doctor.

This gathering took place during a unique episode titled “Time Crash” that was part of the Children in Need charity event, positioned chronologically between “The Last of the Time Lords” and “Voyage of the Damned”.

The event that TopMob was scheduled to capture turned out to be significantly more significant than initially anticipated. It’s worth noting that Tennant eventually married Georgia, Davison’s daughter, which made him Davison’s son-in-law.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I found myself standing on the set, witnessing the pair nestled within the enigmatic TARDIS, while the team worked tirelessly to record this captivating moment for posterity.

In another image, Tennant and Davison are captured standing posed, both donning their distinctive costumes representing The Doctor, in front of a green backdrop.

As a dedicated cinephile, I’ve just stumbled upon some fresh snaps from the TopMob archives, taken during the unforgettable 2006 cover photo session that starred none other than David Tennant, Billie Piper, and Elisabeth Sladen.

Recently, Tennant looked back on getting the part, confessing that his former agent advised against it, stating that “the role won’t succeed.

Back when I collaborated with that exceptional agent who recently hung up her badge, there was this one instance where I believe she missed the mark on a crucial call.

I’m thrilled to share that my favorite show, Doctor Who, will carry on from the 19th of April, 2025! You can catch it first thing in the morning on BBC iPlayer at 8am, and then again at 7:15pm on BBC One. Can’t wait!
