Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor‘s divorce has gotten nastier than fans could have imagined.

Brittany revealed fresh insights regarding a heated argument with her separated spouse, which escalated into violence, during the first episode of season two on “The Valley”.

The argument started when Jax found text conversations between Brittany and her former flame, Julian, whom she got involved with following their split last year.

As I walked in, there he was on my iPad – quite an unexpected surprise, I shared with Michelle Saniei during our conversation on the Bravo series’ April 15 episode. He had gone through all the messages, even the one where I sent a suggestive video. Now, we were separated, so I couldn’t help but think ‘whatever.’ In his anger, he flipped over the coffee table, and it hit my knee, causing it to turn black instantly.

The former Vanderpump Rules cast member exclaimed, “Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!” in a state of distress. She went on to say that the situation was horrifying and repeated, “You’re cheating on me! You’re cheating on me! You’re still talking to him!

In simpler terms, the 36-year-old pointed out that it was hypocritical of Jax to react so strongly (explosion) to their breakup, considering he has been involved with other women since they parted ways.

From Jax’s perspective, his outburst was partially triggered by the discussion they had about potentially reconciling.

The 45-year-old expressed to Danny Booko that she had intended to return home but was simultaneously sending inappropriate messages. Essentially, she said something like, “I thought we were going to work on our marriage,” only to discover that she was still communicating with another man.

Inside the confessional booth, Jax admitted, “We agreed we could see other people, but a friend? Really. I was close to Julian, spending lots of time together. Yet, it turned out that Brittany was still involved with him, and I didn’t even know about it.

The worst part? The violent altercation occurred just steps away from Cruz.

He explained further to Danny, “I lost control completely, I became enraged,” expressing the intensity of his emotion. “Never before have I been so angry, it was terrible.” Fortunately, Cruz was elsewhere and didn’t witness the incident.

The fight left Brittany increasingly skeptical about Jax’s parenting.

She informed Michelle, “His outbursts and behavior have escalated dramatically, which is why I can’t allow Cruz to be with him alone.

Still, Jax insisted Brittany moving on with his friend was too much to handle.

He acknowledged in a private moment that he didn’t have a solution for the issue at hand, as his actions were incorrect. He admitted to losing self-control, feeling enraged, and having an unusual experience that seemed out of his own body. However, he challenged anyone to find someone who wouldn’t react to the situation in the same way that he did.

It wasn’t just Brittany who was shaken up by the event; the entire cast was taken aback, with Kristen Doute, her fellow Bravo costar for a long time, being particularly affected.

In response to comments about Jax Taylor being a universally good person, the VPR alum countered in a confessional, “It’s not that everyone believes Jax is an outstanding individual across the board.” He continued, “I’ve witnessed him mistreating his past girlfriends. I’ve seen him cheat and display anger issues. However, what he did to Brittany was unlike anything I have ever observed before.

Brittany admitted in March that “there’s always hope,” but she just needs Jax to put in the work.

Last July, Jax finally announced that he would be undergoing in-patient care for his mental health concerns, a step that Brittany had encouraged him to take for years by urging him to attend therapy.

Following the ambiguous reaction from Jax towards Brittany regarding her divorce filing, which caused some doubt about their legal marriage status, she clarified the situation.

She remarked on the TopMob News Instagram post regarding Jax’s mishap with responses, stating that they are officially married according to law. Seems like some folks find completing paperwork challenging, she surmised.

In November 2024, Brittany admitted to having a brief romantic entanglement with one of Jax’s acquaintances after their separation, and she made no apologies for her actions.
