Aimee Lou Wood received more than just a white lotus—she got some roses, too.

A few days after Saturday Night Live made a satire of The White Lotus star, who found it offensive and unfunny, the 31-year-old actress graciously shared a charming gift she received from comedian Sarah Sherman, who played her character Chelsea in the skit.

On her Instagram Stories on April 15th, Aimee displayed an arrangement of orange roses and pink carnations and mentioned Sarah with the message: “Appreciation for your lovely bouquet.

TopMob News contacted representatives from Saturday Night Live concerning the parody, but have yet to receive a response.

In a sketch on Saturday Night Live, airing on April 12th and titled “The White POTUS,” Sarah portrayed a caricature of President Donald Trump and his administration. In this depiction, she seemed to wear fake teeth and joked about Aimee’s appearance by implying that the use of fluoride might not be advantageous for her.

Shortly afterward, Aimee criticized the skit on Instagram, stating that a “more intelligent, subtler, and less crass approach” should have been used to mock someone.

Furthermore, the former star of Sex Education didn’t hesitate to defend herself, and she wasn’t alone. Indeed, actress Jameela Jamil swiftly intervened to challenge what she perceived as unfair treatment towards women, pointing out a perceived double standard.

In a post on Instagram on April 13th, the star of “The Good Place” commented that Aimee’s smile is not as captivating or iconic as some other aspects of her talent. He then drew comparisons to another British actress, Olivia Colman, by saying she is hilarious, profound, vulnerable, and endearingly lovable, just like Colman.

Jameela went on to say, “We mock the integration of women, only to excessively fixate on individuals who possess even mildly unconventional traits, compared to the arbitrary beauty standards that we, as women, have come to accept and uphold in our society.
