Sean Lowe is embracing his scars.
A month after a violent attack by his recently adopted 3-month old Boxer dog, Moose, left the 41-year-old Bachelor alum in the hospital for two visits within a 12-hour span, he provided an update on his progress with his recovery.
As a devoted father to Samuel, 7, Isaiah, 6, and Mia, 5, who share this beautiful life with my wonderful wife Catherine Giudici, I’m feeling fantastic. Many of you have inquired about my well-being, and I’m pleased to say that I’m doing great. I’m making progress, and to my surprise, the scars aren’t as severe as I initially anticipated.
He mentioned that Isaiah enjoys kissing this particular scar, he indicated, lifting the mark on the inside of his wrist while his six-year-old relative snuggled up next to him. The doctor said that’s the one it is, that’s as good as it will get. It’s somewhat red at the moment, but it won’t stay red forever; however, I’ll have a distinctive scar there permanently.
On March 13th, as Sean and his companions enjoyed a barbecue in the yard, an unexpected incident occurred. The smoke detector inside the house began sounding an alarm, causing the celebrity to go in and try to clear the smoke with a dishcloth. It was then that events took an unexpected turn.
Sean recounted in a March 17 Instagram post, “He bared his teeth at me and launched an attack. I could feel him tearing into my arm, so I was frantically trying to keep the dog away at that point.
In my immediate view, I could only witness a spray of blood. I’m incredibly grateful that my companions were nearby, swiftly whisking me off to the emergency room.
Following a series of stitches in around five to six distinct spots, the father of three departed for home to organize childcare with Catherine, planning to send their children to live temporarily with his own parents while he sorted out his next steps. However, it wasn’t too long before another assault took place.
Sean described the situation, stating that he was putting the children into the vehicle when suddenly Moose darted out the front door. The dog then charged straight towards him and attacked yet again.
He found it incredibly difficult to manage that dog, even with his 220-pound frame, he said. If someone else had been there, the dog might have harmed his family – his children or wife – but he was able to restrain him for a total of 10 minutes until the police arrived.
Since the attacks, Sean mentioned that he’s collaborating with animal control and a no-kill shelter in search of an optimal solution for Moose. He also said, “I absolutely don’t hold Moose responsible.” However, it’s undeniable that the events were extremely distressing.
Sean stated, acknowledging that his scars on his arms will remain throughout his life, but he can manage. He added that Catherine, whom he wed in 2014 after their encounter on the seventeenth season of The Bachelor, might notice him flinching occasionally due to past trauma. From a mental health standpoint, he believes he’ll be able to cope just fine.
