Given that the authenticity of the Oblivion remake has been confirmed (to be more precise, it’s a remaster, as suggested by leaked documents), there’s been a surge of excited spectators wondering if the revival will incorporate enhanced gameplay systems and mechanics.
As Oblivion moves towards its 20-year mark, some aspects like character development and combat may seem outdated compared to more recent games. There’s apprehension that the upcoming remaster might primarily focus on visual upgrades rather than significant gameplay enhancements.
Thankfully, with our recent discovery that the game is indeed real, we can revisit earlier rumors to uncover some insights. Specifically, there was a significant leak back in January which gained much attention, and it essentially hinted at improved game mechanics for the upcoming Elder Scrolls V: Oblivion.
The information that surfaced recently was initially disclosed by an ex-employee from Virtuos, who has now been identified as the developer responsible for the Oblivion remaster, following the latest leaks originating directly from their official website.
The former employee had outlined several gameplay enhancements on what appeared to be a personal job posting, which was swiftly removed after people found out about it. This posting suggested significant updates to the systems related to activities such as archery, stealth, and defense maneuvers.
Improved on-hit animations were suggested as well, likely enhancing the overall gaming experience to feel more contemporary.
It’s likely that we can expect more upgrades than just improved graphics in the Oblivion remaster, as it is strongly rumored to be officially unveiled next week, so we’ll have a clearer picture soon.
