Marathon’s Closed Alpha Minimum PC Requirements Revealed

As an eager supporter, I’m thrilled to share that Bungie has revealed the baseline PC requirements for the upcoming closed alpha test of Marathon, commencing on April 23rd.

To play this game, your Windows system should be a 64-bit version running on Windows 10 with the latest service pack installed. You’ll need an Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, at least 8 GB of RAM, and a graphics card comparable to GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB), Radeon RX 5500 XT (4 GB), or Intel Arc A580 (8 GB). Additionally, the system should support DirectX 12 with Feature Level 12_1 and have around 6 GB of storage space for the alpha build. Although Bungie hasn’t released the recommended system requirements yet, the final game might require even more powerful specifications.

The game titled “Marathon” is set to debut on September 23rd, compatible with Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. At the initial release, it offers three maps and six characters to play as. An additional map will be added shortly post-launch. Unfortunately, proximity chat functionality won’t be accessible at first due to apprehensions regarding possible player hostility.

According to game director Joe Ziegler, the development team is focusing on ensuring player safety at present, as they don’t have a dependable way to stop harmful conduct within these open communication platforms. It remains uncertain if this will be addressed in the future, so keep an eye out for further announcements.
