The developers at Bloober Team are preparing to release their upcoming game, and they recently unveiled a gameplay trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn on Wednesday, giving fans a sneak peek into the exciting elements that await in this upcoming sci-fi horror adventure.
Initially unveiled during the October 2024 Xbox Partner Preview, Cronos: The New Dawn appears to draw significant inspiration from prior games within the third-person genre, like The Callisto Protocol and Dead Space.
In essence, Cronos: The New Dawn is characterized as a blend of Eastern European brutalism and futuristic technology from yesteryears, and it seamlessly transitions between past and future timelines due to time distortions sweeping across the world. Here’s the latest gameplay trailer for you to check out:

Remarkably, the game emphasizes the idea of “Prevent fusion” as a sort of subtitle, as the creatures opponents encounter grow more powerful when they manage to blend together.
As per the description on its Xbox marketplace, it appears that these beings must be incinerated to prevent a specific event from transpiring. In various other games, foes have been either required or incentivized to be set ablaze, with the initial Resident Evil being one such example. This seems like an intriguing fresh take on this common gameplay mechanic.
Being deeply enthusiastic about science-fiction survival horror games, this one certainly piques my interest for future developments. With Dead Space apparently put on hold at the moment, even though Motive Studio has done a fantastic job on their Dead Space remake, I’d warmly welcome any developer who plans to delve into that genre.
Previously, Bloober Team was known for creating games like Layers of Fear and The Medium. However, their remake of Silent Hill 2 significantly boosted their reputation, earning widespread acclaim from critics and selling more than 2 million units by January 2025.
As a game analyst, I can confirm that while the specific release date for “Cronos: The New Dawn” has yet to be announced, it is planned to debut towards the end of 2025 on platforms such as Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5.
