During an interview with The Verge, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer shared insights about various topics including unannounced games slated for 2025, Minecraft, Fallout, and more gaming-related subjects. His continued focus on the Nintendo realm sparked curiosity among many, including myself.
Last week, the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 was unveiled. Despite its higher price tag, game-key cartridges, and $80 games, many consumers find it an attractive product. Contrary to what some might say on social media, there have been numerous instances where they’ve been incorrect, myself included.
When inquired about any plans for the potential Switch 2 from Xbox, Phil replied, “We’ve been backing the original Switch, and we hope to support the Switch 2 as well. Nintendo has been a fantastic collaborator. For us, it’s an exceptional opportunity to reach players who aren’t into PC gaming or Xbox gaming.
He went on to explain, “It allows us to expand our network of individuals who are passionate about our gaming brands, which is crucial for us to keep improving our games. I strongly believe in the significance of Nintendo within this sector and our commitment to sustaining them. Furthermore, receiving their backing for our franchises is vital to our long-term success.
Will Sea of Thieves or Starfield come to Nintendo platforms?

It appears that games such as Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 5 heading to PlayStation could signal a similar move for Nintendo Switch 2. Although it might not have the same processing power as Sony and Microsoft’s latest hardware, Phil and his team have shown proficiency in optimizing games for less powerful systems, like the Xbox Series S.
Before any discussions ensue, let me ask: Could Starfield and Halo be released on the next Nintendo Switch? If that happens, I would definitely be among the earliest to grab a version of Constellation for my portable console.
There’s been a lot of chatter suggesting that popular games like Gears of War, Starfield, and Halo might move to PlayStation. If any of them do, it’s quite likely they could also appear on the potential Switch 2 platform.
Call of Duty finally coming to Switch 2

In 2023, Microsoft pledged that Call of Duty would be available on Nintendo systems. However, as this commitment was written down, the game has not yet been transferred to the Switch platform.
Given the upgraded capabilities of the Switch 2, it seems plausible that the upcoming Call of Duty could make its debut simultaneously on a Nintendo device for the first time since Modern Warfare 3. If this occurs, it may be necessary for me to purchase the chat feature.
