A well-known figure from the past is coming back to Coronation Street following a 25-year absence, but now playing an entirely different role.
Fans may recall Dominic Rickhards as the physiotherapist of Jim McDonald, named Michael Wall. However, he’s set to reappear in the ITV soap once more.
In the tail end of the 1990s, Michael made his appearance on the cobblestones, playing a pivotal role in helping Jim recover from a construction site mishap that left him incapacitated. However, their bond was tested when Michael became romantically involved with Liz, Jim’s significant other, which ultimately resulted in their separation.
Next week, it seems that the newly introduced character, Dom Norwood by Rickhards, is poised for more mischief. He’ll be going on a date with Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) and will share details about a business opportunity he’s part of, attempting to convince her to invest in it.
It seems Jenny isn’t aware that Dom, in a clandestine manner, has been employed by her stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and Daisy’s biological mother Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), with the intention of deceiving Jenny out of her funds.
Yet another complication arises as Daisy learns that Christina and Dom have been secretly courting each other, causing her to fear that Daniel might discover their scheme against Jenny and decide not to relocate with her.
Dom’s arrival contributes to Daisy’s departure narrative, as actress Charlotte Jordan decided to leave the soap following a five-year tenure.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my excitement about Daisy’s character in the story. Robbins shared that in a pinch, we finally witness Daisy leaning on her kin for support – something truly captivating!
She went on to say that Christina rushed to help, ultimately seeking retribution against Jenny, a desire she had harbored for quite some time.
They are now collaborating to reverse a situation involving Jenny, which perfectly aligns with Christina’s interests, as it falls directly within what she enjoys or specializes in.
She added: “Jenny probably has all the characteristics that she [Christina] would like to have.
She deeply yearns for a close relationship with her daughter, but that’s the sacrifice she made when she chose to leave. Unfortunately, she lost not only her daughter but also her husband in the process. It seems Christina has never truly moved past that loss, and this is the root of the current situation.
