Microsoft Has Unannounced Games Slated for Release in 2025 – Phil Spencer

The leader of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, has shared some enthusiasm regarding the company’s remaining plans for the year. In a conversation with Variety over the success of A Minecraft Movie, Spencer discussed Microsoft’s lineup of upcoming games, in addition to titles that are still under wraps.

During the interview, Spencer casually dropped names such as “South of Midnight”, “DOOM: The Dark Ages”, and “The Outer Worlds 2” by Obisdian, but he also expressed caution to prevent any accidental disclosure of projects that could potentially be released in 2025.

Spencer expressed his high level of satisfaction with the upcoming game lineup for the remainder of this year. He recently mentioned “Avowed” and couldn’t help but praise Obsidian for their exceptional work. Of course, we’ve previously discussed “The Outer Worlds 2”, “South of Midnight”, and “DOOM”. There are also other projects in the pipeline, some of which have yet to be revealed, and he’s trying hard not to disclose any information prematurely.

Given Microsoft’s recent trend of making their games available on platforms other than just Xbox, Spencer was also queried about his views on the approaching Nintendo Switch 2. In response, he described Nintendo as an “excellent collaborator.”

As a devoted fan, it’s heartening to know that our shared passion for the games we adore helps grow our community. This is crucial for us to keep nurturing our creations. I firmly stand by Nintendo’s impact on this industry and believe in our ongoing collaboration with them. Their backing for our franchises plays a significant role in shaping our future.

Microsoft has announced that they will be holding an Xbox Games Showcase event on June 8th this month. This digital event is intended to highlight upcoming first-party Xbox games and fresh offerings from international third-party developers.

The latest game released by Xbox is titled “South of Midnight“, and it was made available on both PC and Xbox Series X/S this month.
