Tekken 8 Finally Takes a Step in the Right Direction with ‘Emergency’ Patch 2.00.02

After nearly two weeks of relentless turmoil within the Tekken community, Bandai Namco has released update 2.00.02 for Tekken 8 as a first step towards rebuilding the faith of its player base.

If you didn’t know, the second season update for the game turned out to be a catastrophe. Confusing balance changes took away its competitive allure almost immediately, while an assortment of glitched moves and wild bugs added to the development team’s already tarnished image.

Notable members of the team have since expressed regret over the condition of Tekken 8, promising to rectify the issues from Season 2. The initial move towards making amends is now available.

In a natural and easy-to-read manner: The feedback we’ve gathered shows that Version 2.00.02 has been generally well-liked by players. Although the “emergency” update doesn’t address all the issues with Season 2 right away, it does introduce some favorable adjustments that should temporarily improve Tekken 8’s standing.

The enhancement of global health and reduction in Heat-based harm, to an extent, has significantly curtailed the excessive aggression found in the gameplay as described in the title. Additionally, some of the game’s most challenging characters have had their power levels slightly diminished.

It appears that most people agree the update surpassed expectations by being both comprehensive and detailed. However, it’s clear that there’s plenty more work left to complete.

A smaller update should roll out by the close of April, followed by a more substantial overhaul in May. It’s clear that neither the players nor the developers are satisfied with the current state of things, but it’s reassuring to know that the Tekken team is attentive to all the feedback they receive.
