Return to Paradise Season 2 Filming in Australia: New Murders and Shocking Twists Await!

The hit sequel series “Return to Paradise” has just been given the green light for a new season, with production happening right now in Australia.

The series belongs to the common universe, known as the ‘Para-verse’, which was initially introduced through the popular BBC series “Death in Paradise” and further developed with the spin-off show “Beyond Paradise”, where Kris Marshall reprised his role as Humphrey Goodman.

The narrative in “Return to Paradise” moves to Australia, centering around Mackenzie Clarke, an Aussie detective who was previously employed by the Metropolitan Police in London. Due to certain circumstances, she is compelled to return to her childhood home.

Despite her eagerness to return to the United Kingdom, circumstances outside her control are forcing her to remain in Dolphin Cove for now, as a series of crimes continue to unravel in this charming coastal community.

The summary for season 2 hints that Mack’s strong urge to unravel unsolvable mysteries provides an excellent diversion. Furthermore, there’s no scarcity of deaths to examine.

In settings ranging from the literary realm to modern shark research facilities, dating platforms and rock shows, Mack and her crew tackle intricate puzzles using a combination of wit and determination.

However, Mack’s most significant hurdle was figuring out how to coexist in Dolphin Cove, given his status as the complete outsider.

The narrative continues by addressing the significant Season 1 cliffhanger, where Mack’s former fiancée Glenn (played by Tai Hara) expressed love for him, even though she is now betrothed to someone else.

Samson and Hara are once again taking the helm for the main cast of Return to Paradise. Joining them will be familiar faces such as Lloyd Griffith (Ted Lasso), Catherine McClements (Apple Cider Vinegar), Celia Ireland (Wentworth), Andrea Demetriades (The Artful Dodger) and Aaron McGrath (Preppers).

Just like its predecessor, Return to Paradise continues with a rotating cast of guest stars, one of whom is Tim Rogers from You Am I, appearing in season 2. Additionally, Ardal O’Hanlon will reprise his role on the show for a second time, portraying Jack Mooney, who was previously the main character in Death in Paradise.

Tim Key, the executive producer, expressed his joy that people around the world embraced Mack and the rest of the Australian team, and he’s thrilled to once again work alongside the fantastic cast and crew in Australia.

Expect a new installment brimming with clever murder mysteries, intricate romantic entanglements, and stunningly beautiful Australian landscapes, all seasoned with the distinctive charm, wit, and humor that characterize the Paradise series.

Sue Deeks, who leads BBC programme acquisitions, expressed her delight: “Over five million UK viewers visited Dolphin Cove last year, and I’m thrilled that we’re soon returning to Australia to reunite with Mack and the gang for six fresh, ingeniously crafted, and enjoyable new mysteries.
