There’s a familiar face moving on up in Prince William’s organization.

The Earthshot Prize, initiated by William in 2020 to annually recognize five environmentalists, has announced that Jason Knauf will take over as its new Chief Executive Officer. This appointment comes approximately seven years following his allegations of bullying against Meghan Markle.

Jason expressed his gratitude in a statement posted on the organization’s website, stating that he is excited about his new role as the upcoming CEO of The Earthshot Prize. He is eager to collaborate with our outstanding team and inspiring Earthshot community to further our goal of immediate optimism for our planet.

He went on saying, “The Award has already accomplished a great deal, and its future possibilities are immense. I’m eagerly looking forward to diving in.

The role of CEO will be taken over by Jason, as he has been selected by the Board of Trustees, following the four-year tenure of Hannah Jones in this position.

In the meantime, William commended Hannah for transforming “The Prize” into a top-tier global organization. He further stated, “With regards to the future of ‘The Prize’ and the pressing task of expanding innovative solutions to address the world’s most significant issues, I am excited about collaborating with Jason to map out the strategy for the next five years and beyond of The Earthshot Prize.

Previously, I served as a communications secretary for both William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, alongside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. After rising through the ranks to become Kensington Palace’s Communications Director and ultimately CEO of the Royal Foundation, I oversaw their charitable endeavors until 2021. It was then that I began my association with The Earthshot Prize.
