As a devoted Marvel enthusiast, I’m thrilled that “Thunderbolts” is set to hit the 2025 movie lineup in just two weeks, paving the way for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” as this year’s third and final Marvel masterpiece. The initial trailer for the new Fantastic Four adventure was unveiled in February, and now a fresh “First Steps” trailer has surfaced, offering fans an enticing glimpse of the footage presented at CinemaCon earlier this month.
In this latest sneak peek, there are numerous intriguing elements to dissect, such as our first glimpse of Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer, but I can’t help but focus on the apparent hints suggesting how “First Steps” might intertwine with the broader Multiverse Saga.
Similar to 2007’s “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”, the upcoming film titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” features Marvel’s original family facing off against the Silver Surfer and his master, Galactus, who is planning to consume Earth. However, it seems that in this story, Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, may have intentionally summoned these beings to our world instead of them just appearing here unexpectedly. In the trailer, he can be heard telling his wife, Sue Storm, portrayed by Vanessa Kirby: “We didn’t invite them, but they found us.
It’s my fault. I stretched the bounds of space and they heard.

I Can’t Stop Thinking About the Silver Surfer and WandaVision Clues Spotted in The Fantastic Four: First Steps Trailer, While Keeping Tabs on Marvel Fans’ Feedback.
Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan previously portrayed the Human Torch, but Joseph Quinn from Fantastic Four understands what makes his own interpretation “attractive.
As a lifelong fan of Marvel Comics who’s delved into many Fantastic Four adventures on paper, I initially speculated that this could be a hint towards the Negative Zone, a realm often visited by Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm. However, considering the MCU’s extensive exploration of the multiverse over the past few years, culminating in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it seems more likely that Reed was referring to something else entirely. In the upcoming film, First Steps, I suspect Reed will attempt to open a gateway, but his efforts will not only fail miserably, they’ll also attract the attention of Galactus.
It seems that Reed Richards, being driven by an insatiable scientific curiosity, is endeavoring to explore the multiverse. Given his background in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, where he and his team were pioneering space travel on a 1960s retro-futuristic Earth that boasts flying cars and robots, it’s not surprising that the prospect of other universes has piqued his interest. However, even though Reed is acknowledged as the brightest mind on this planet, his initial foray into the multiverse doesn’t go exactly as planned.
The fact that I’m mentioning this doesn’t necessarily mean the multiverse will play a significant role in the storyline of “First Steps“. To be honest, I can’t fathom how it could given that the superhero team will be preoccupied with trying to prevent Galactus from destroying Earth. However, once this peril is somehow resolved, I anticipate Reed Richards will continue his investigations into the multiverse. This should eventually lead to the Fantastic Four making an appearance in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars“.
I’m still uncertain whether Reed will manage to create a gateway into the multiverse in the upcoming movie “Doomsday,” or if he and his team will be unwillingly pulled through by Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., or another entity. However, this mystery can be resolved at a later time. For now, I eagerly anticipate verifying my hypothesis about “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” when it hits theaters on July 25.
