LL Cool J’s Sam Hanna Is Back! NCIS Teases Exciting Return

LL Cool J has been a mainstay in the NCIS series, playing Sam Hanna for 14 seasons of NCIS: Los Angeles. He also made guest appearances during the last two seasons of NCIS: Hawaii before its cancellation last year. Despite this, we haven’t seen the last of Sam Hanna yet! His return is imminent on the 2025 TV schedule. Beginning this coming Monday, LL Cool J will reappear in NCIS, and sneak peeks from his upcoming episode have been released!

In this rendition, the text can be rephrased as follows: LL Cool J won’t make his debut on the main show; in fact, the Season 6 two-part episode “Legend” functioned as a backdoor pilot for Los Angeles, and he had returned on several occasions during crossovers. However, it’s been some time since he last worked with characters like Timothy McGee and Nick Torres. Therefore, fans will undoubtedly be pleased to see him acting alongside them again.

In a new development for “After the Storm,” Sam Hanna is set to reappear as the team delves into the mysterious deaths of three military veterans in a hotel room. They locate a reluctant witness who will only converse with Sam. Consequently, Sam will return to Washington D.C. to aid the NCIS main characters and, in the process, maintain his charming demeanor.

Additionally, it’s been confirmed that Sam will have interactions with Leon Vance, the director of NCIS. However, it remains unclear whether Sam continues to work for the law enforcement agency or if he left following NCIS: Hawai’i and is merely assisting the DC team on a favorable basis.

As a film enthusiast, I must say that Sam Hanna won’t just be lending a hand from the sidelines. He’s also going to join forces with Alden Parker out in the field, which significantly increases the likelihood of him drawing his weapon against a menacing adversary.

In the latest episode of NCIS titled “After the Storm,” LL Cool J makes a return appearance following the reprisal of characters Kensi Blye (played by Daniela Ruah) from NCIS: Los Angeles and Jane Tennant (played by Vanessa Lachey) from NCIS: Hawai’i in the 1,000th episode of the NCIS franchise. This appearance underscores the fact that even when an NCIS series concludes, it doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t see one of its main characters again. It would be nice if some portion of the 42-minute runtime was dedicated to catching up on what Sam has been doing since his last appearance in Hawai’i.

After the “After the Storm” episode of NCIS airs at 9 pm ET on Monday, there will be just two episodes remaining in Season 22. Don’t fret though! Season 23 of NCIS is scheduled to air on the same network later this year, along with Seasons 2 of NCIS: Origins and 3 of NCIS: Sydney. Additionally, NCIS: Tony & Ziva is anticipated to premiere in the fall, exclusively on Paramount+.
