Naomi Watts is continuing to cheer her daughter on.
16-year-old daughter of the actress from “Friends,” Kai Schreiber (shared with ex Liev Schreiber), was revealed as one of the models for Valentino’s Pre-Fall campaign, and Naomi, who tied the knot with Billy Crudup in 2023, couldn’t help but express her enthusiasm about Kai’s high-profile modeling opportunity.
Kudos to @kaischreiberrr – so thrilling! The 56-year-old, who is a mother to 17-year-old son Sasha with her former spouse, posted pictures from the campaign. These photos were directed by the creative genius, Alessandro Michele. ‘@alessandro_michele, your vision is exceptionally poetic.’
Naomi commented, in one of the photos taken on set, that she is “radiating with pride” about her daughter’s recent work. The project features her daughter dancing and playing with a Rubik’s Cube while wearing jeans, a black top adorned with a big blue bow, and a sheer cardigan.
Liev, who is 19 months old and shares him with wife Taylor Neisen, also posted some of the images to his personal Instagram Stories following their release. Meanwhile, Kai expressed her gratitude for the entire campaign and everyone involved in it by posting on Instagram: “I am eternally thankful for this project and everyone on the team.
The campaign was launched a month following Kai’s catwalk debut at the Valentino show during Paris Fashion Week on March 9th.
Naomi posted on Instagram, “That’s my little Valentino house! I can hardly contain my excitement.
Additionally, Liev also expressed admiration towards his daughter by posting on Instagram, “Allow me to introduce, the remarkable @kaishreiberr – one of a kind!
Of course, Kai also reflected on the meaningful moment.
In a March 9 Instagram post, the 16-year-old expressed, ‘I’m overflowing with so much emotion,’ followed by a message for Alessandro Michele, Valentino’s creative director, and her styling team: ‘I love you so much.’
On that particular instance, her mother additionally showered praise upon her child through comments, stating, “Oh, my pulse quickens! Bravo dear ILSM, and what an outstanding performance!
After Kai’s runway debut, Liev shot back at critics who labeled her a “nepo baby.”
The 57-year-old said, when speaking with TMZ during an interview on March 12, “I don’t have much to say to those who criticize me.” He went on to compare his situation by asking, “What if you were a professional actor and your child chose to pursue something in life. Wouldn’t they have the freedom to make their own decisions, rather than following in your footsteps?
Speaking passionately, I exclaimed, “Regardless of her personal choices, she’s living her life to the fullest, and that’s something I admire deeply. Her performance in the show was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving me awestruck!
