This summer, the hugely popular free-to-play game from NetEase Games, Marvel Rivals, will introduce swimsuit skins. These new additions offer a quicker method for players to enjoy spending their funds within the game.
As a researcher diving into the thrilling world of Marvel, I’m excited to share that the legendary comic house has announced a comeback of its iconic Marvel Swimsuit Special this July! The high demand for this unique series over the years, combined with a tie-in event, is driving this revival. Intriguingly, several swimsuit designs from the special will be incorporated into Marvel Rivals as character skins, adding a fresh layer of excitement to the game!
It’s interesting to note that the artwork displayed in this announcement includes some characters who can be played in Marvel Rivals, like Iron Man and Scarlet Witch. However, it also showcases characters not yet available in the game, such as She-Hulk and Wasp.
NetEase Games developers are considering introducing a stunning new character each month, beginning in Season 3. It’s possible that some of these anticipated heroes might debut around the time of summer festivities!

Since its debut in December 2024, Marvel Rivals has experienced exceptional player loyalty, amassing a user base of 40 million spanning various platforms. Despite Overwatch 2’s recent advancements, NetEase Games’ game remains the frontrunner in terms of popularity.
The latest addition to our roster is Emma Frost, providing much-needed support to the Vanguard team within the game. On the other hand, Ultron will join us as a fresh Strategist around the midpoint of Season 2, which is just a few weeks away.
There’s an intuition within me that an upcoming summer event featuring more revealing characters might boost participation rates. As for myself, I find such entertainment enjoyable, provided that the costumes are designed to be inclusive and gender-neutral.
