You Won’t Recognize Rogue One After Andor Season 2 – Here’s Why

At Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Luna was accompanied by her co-stars from Andor, including Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Genvieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, and Alan Tudyk. Also present were the series creator Tony Gilroy and executive producer Sann Wohlenberg for a special viewing of the second season premiere of the show. Luna remarked on the grandeur of the upcoming season, stating that it is bigger in every aspect, with increased adventure, action, and drama. She added that as they approach the level of Rogue One, everything becomes significantly more important.

Luna hinted that the upcoming second season of the popular Rogue One prequel series, Andor, will be significantly more emotional compared to its first run. Luna stated, “This season is going to pack quite an emotional punch. Once you’ve watched all the episodes in this final season, I suggest you head straight over to watch Rogue One, as it will offer a completely new experience.”

The first season of Andor, set five years before the events of Rogue One, covered approximately one year across twelve episodes. Luna mentioned that the second season would delve into the remaining four years leading up to the film, with three episodes airing each week, focusing on one year at a time. In essence, Luna noted, “It’s like we’re releasing an entire movie every week.

In 2022, the series “Andor” debuted on Disney+ to almost universal acclaim and an enthusiastic audience response. The title character, although not yet fully embodying his heroic persona in the story. The cast includes Soller as Syril Karn, Arjona as Bix Caleen, O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Gough as Dedra Meero, and Tudyk providing the voice of K-2SO. At the time of writing, the first season of “Andor” boasts a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on an aggregate score of 606 reviews of the series.

Seaosn 2 of Andor Is Coming Soon

A glimpse at season 2 of the series “Andor” is arriving soon, only days before its release on Disney+ on April 22. However, this isn’t the only exciting news from the Star Wars universe that’s causing a stir at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo. On April 17, we have a new live-action film titled “Starfighter” set to hit the screens, which will take place several years after the events of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker“. This movie is expected to introduce an almost entirely fresh cast of characters. As for the director, Shawn Levy, Gosling stated that he was “the perfect filmmaker” for this specific story. He also mentioned that “Starfighter” has a wonderful and unique tale with heartfelt characters, brimming with adventure. The film is set to be released in theaters on May 28, 2027, approximately a year after the next Star Wars film, “The Mandalorian & Grogu“, hits the screens on May 22, 2026.
