Star Trek: Picard’s Daughters Deserve Their Own Show!

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled about the introduction of Commodore Geordi La Forge’s (LeVar Burton) daughters in Star Trek: Picard‘s third season. Their Starfleet journey is something I eagerly anticipate continuing. In this final chapter, Star Trek: Picard brought together the esteemed cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation for another epic cosmic rescue mission. Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew, after all these years, have evolved significantly from their days on the USS Enterprise-D. Not only has Geordi La Forge advanced to the rank of Commodore, but he’s also become a husband and father to two wonderful daughters.

Sidney (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut) and Alandra (Mica Burton), as Ensigns on the Starship Enterprise, played a significant part in thwarting the Borg/Changeling plan to annihilate Starfleet, urging their father to assist Picard. In essence, they were valuable contributors to the Star Trek family. At present, there are no scheduled projects that would involve them further. Following the triumph of Star Trek: Picard‘s third season, viewers have been eager for a spin-off, and the concept of Star Trek: Legacy started to gain traction. Regrettably, despite the promising opportunities presented by Picard’s last season, Star Trek: Legacy has yet to materialize in any way.

Star Trek Should Find A Way To Continue Sidney & Alandra’s Story

One of the standout aspects of Star Trek: Picard‘s season 3 was Geordi La Forge’s evolution into a father and family man. This development seemed fitting for his character, and both Sidney and Alandra were instantly captivating and endearing characters. While Sidney opted for a pilot career instead of engineering, it was evident that they, along with their father, held great respect and affection for each other. They demonstrated their prowess as Starfleet officers, diligent in their duties but also adept at bending the rules when necessary.

Star Trek: Picard‘s third season presented an expansive narrative involving numerous characters and intricate elements, which limited the screen time dedicated to the La Forge family. Nonetheless, Sidney and Alandra shared a delightful rapport with each other and their father, and I eagerly anticipate seeing more of this dynamic in future episodes. With her role on the USS Enterprise-G, Picard’s final season paved the way for Sidney to take on a significant part in a potential spin-off series. Regrettably, it appears that Star Trek: Legacy might not materialize anytime soon, preventing us from spending more quality time with the La Forge sisters.

Who Is Sidney & Alandra’s Mother?

In the third season of Star Trek: Picard, we gained a bit more understanding about Geordi La Forge and his children, yet numerous queries about the La Forge family remain unresolved, particularly concerning the mother of Sidney and Alandra. In episode 6 of Picard season 3, titled “The Bounty,” Geordi mentions his partner when he agrees to rejoin his former companions, telling Alandra, “Tell Mom we’re not gonna be home for dinner.” Although some fans have suggested that Geordi’s spouse on Star Trek: The Next Generation might have been Dr. Leah Brahms (Susan Gibney), I personally hope this is not the case, as their interactions on TNG left room for improvement.

In the finale of “Star Trek: Picard” season 3, Lt. Sidney La Forge was promoted to helmsman on the USS Enterprise-G, serving under Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan). While it wasn’t clear if Alandra also received a promotion in “Picard” season 3, future “Star Trek: Legacy” could potentially feature her aboard the Enterprise-G as well. It remains uncertain whether “Star Trek” will continue the La Forge family storyline, but I fervently hope that an upcoming “Trek” project carries on from where “Star Trek: Picard” concluded.
